Food Xpress Restaurant — Restaurant in Chicago

the first place I come when I come to the south side of Chicago every since I've been 5 years old is this place okay you have to get the grilled chicken burrito no onions no tomatoes extra grilled chicken the cheese and then you have to get those hot peppers and fries and you have to say no sauce on it all right time to cut into three pieces and it is delicious and if you're not feeling a burrito that day you must get the ribs because those ribs are a amazing okay this place will do you no wrong I come all the way from Crete just to come to this place and I'm telling you I have been coming to this place forever I am a 22 years old and I went to school on the southside of Chicago I went to Pershing and the school was right down the street from here and it's amazing and telling you the food is amazing it's from the heart and these people are amazing and their food is amazing and it will truly fill you up you'll feel happy when you're eating it and I can taste it right now and I want one so bad so go get you some fries or homemade everything is homemade everything is authentic...

They supposedly stay open til 10 but if u call at 8 they 1)MIRACULOUSLY never have gyros meat and 2) are ALWAYS "finished" serving shakes...2 WHOLE HOURS VEFORE CLOSE. Did i mention that they also NEVER have steak for the steak tacos that they have in THEIR extensive menu. Mind u, tgere are Hispanic folks cooking in the restaurant's kitchen IN Chicago, a city that is dang near "taco heaven" and u NEVER have carne asada for ur carne asada tacos?!?! And I would be dripping the ball if I did not highlight the pispoor customer service. The phone and in-restaurant service behave as though they are doing the patrons a davor by takibg their order. It has consistently been this way. The only high point has been their delivery drivers, which is why i make sure to tip them.

The long of the short is I officially give up on u Shore's bka Food Xpress. Can't continue to give you $$$ and time when u seem to excell at subpar service...which I find baffling considering it is in complete contrast to ur overly wordy long as hell outgoing...

Purchased a gyro from this place and it was BURNT. The meat and bread burnt. To add, the meat was salty and old. I called to rectify the situation and explained to the person that took my order, that the food was burnt and I was dissatisfied. I was asked, what did I want to do and I said a credit/food to be replaced at a later time because I don’t live close by. I was then told, the only way to receive a credit…I have to return food or have my receipt. REALLY!!!!! Since I don’t have receipt, or don’t want to travel 40 mins for a $10 sandwich…it’s nothing to be done. It’s restaurants like this, that gives a bad name for good restaurants. Any respectful establishment would have given a credit, under your name, for the next time you visited. Reminder: Check your food before leaving. I hope this review helps other customs and hopefully establishes better practices by this restaurant. Needless to say, I won’t be returning. My pic shows how disgusting my...
