Maxwell Street Polish — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

I use to love this place ... Yet , tonight it was very upsetting... I mean customer service has never been great . yet the young man whom took my orders tonight was not well trained.

-1rst he took my order after coming from the grill with gloves on.

-2nd he took my money with the gloves on returned the change and began to drop fries.

-3rd once I informed it was unsanitary he began to get argumentative( stating he wasn't going to touch any food) yet continue to drop and bag fries with same dirty gloves.

If some has hair beyond their shoulders good handling requirements are to have it up and under a net ... This upset young man had neither.(He did have a paper cap but his hair flowed on his back so that didn't help much )

as a since of payback they skimped me on my 2nd fry.

Since I seen several unsanitary acts they will all be reported to the appropriate departments. Please be careful the #1 reason for all food borne illnesses is inappropriate...

I used to walk far distances to get to this place on Southwestern Avenue in Chicago to taste something new from the menu including desserts. I’d bring home some food to friends and family. Now they bring it home to me. Recently visiting family and I drove over there and we parked on the side somewhere and sat at a public neighbourhood steps. People passing by were waving at us in a friendly manner. Obviously, they saw and heard that we were enjoying the experience of a lifetime! Get your hands dirty, enjoy the meal! This place, though cheap, brings family together. We found a place to enjoy the savoury food and desserts because it only has Take Out, no seating...
