Pudgy's Pizza & Sandwiches — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

I've had their thin crust pizza plenty of times, it is really tasty with good sauce and usually a little crunchy, I like it. But I dont know who inspired the deep dish... it's different from normal Chicago deep dish. They put the ingredients on in the same order a thin crust one does (Crust, sauce, toppings, cheese) they put way too much cheese on this this. I couldnt handle how much cheese was on it, felt like that was all I tasted. I brought it home and 5 others didn't want to try it because it looked like just a bunch of cheese. Had a thin crust pep and a chicken vesuvio sandwich the other day. The pizza crust was nonexistent. Couldn’t even pick up a slice. The sandwich was awful. Very soggy to the point your fingers rip through the bread trying to pick it up. Chicken tasted freezer burned. On top of that the prices have gone up while the quality has went way down. Beef is no where near what it used to be either. Sigh 😔 I guess all good things must come to an end. Guess I’ll have to get my beefs from Capri and my chicken vesuvios from Frankie...

1st time buying pizza from Pudgy's after searching for something local but different than the common big boy spots. Omgggg!!! One of the best pizzas I've ever had! I ordered a medium sausage and pepperoni extra cheese lightly browned. I almost ate 1/2 in one sitting. Sweet sauce, crispy slightly chewy crust fresh sausage n pepperoni n the cheese that pulllllls! What more could you ask for as a thin crust lover! Absolutely will be back again n again! Thanks Pudgy's for giving Chicago a name for the best pizza!!...
