Unsanitary. Needs to shut down.Visited this place September 22nd,2021 around 11pm. When I walked in there was a dark-sinned pregnant woman with braids who unhappily greeted me. She was preparing an Uber order and there was just one guy in line. What I noticed was that she was talking loudly over the food she was preparing to the customer. I could literally see the droplets go into the sandwiches. There is a state law that all Subway employees wear a mask to ensure the safety of all customers. I had to ask her if she had a mask because she was wearing no mask. She rudely with attitude said “NO.” And dismissed me. At that moment coincidentally another crew member (I think the manager he had on a different color shirt) walks in. He’s also not wearing on a mask. I politely ask him “Excuse me sir, are your employees not able to wear on masks when making subs?” And he replied “I mean it’s their choice” and I had to remind him “Subway Franchise requires all employees to wear masks, it’s an Illinois mandatory order,your employee is literally talking over the food with no mask on ”and this man responds “well it’s up to you if you want to stay here and get a sandwich or you can go somewhere else”. When I called the store for help, the employee just kept repeating that the order was already picked up. When I said I was coming to the store to sort it out, he hung up on me.
When I arrived at the store, he kept saying the same thing and wasn’t helpful at all. There was also a language barrier, which made the situation even more frustrating. Nowhere during the ordering process did it clearly state that my order was handled by DoorDash, except for a tracking link. The app’s help button only provided the store’s phone number, not DoorDash’s, so I had no way to resolve the issue through them either.
