Blimpie — Restaurant in Idaho

Update: 6/7/2019 - Emailed with the managers and spoken with them in person yesterday after ordering my sandwich and going through the line. They want this to be a good place to eat and were both good to receive the feedback. I know if I have any other issues, I can address with management and it will be looked into.

Today was probably one of the worst cases of poor customer service I have ever had the opportunity to observe. It will more than likely be the reason I do not visit this store again.

A customer ahead of me had asked to have bread removed from her sandwich (figuring to cut down on carbs). This set an employee (from other reading seems to be an assistant manager) off into a fit of rudeness.

She starting slamming items, and being very rude to the lady that ordered the reduced bread. When she was done with that sandwich, she basically pushed the young lady on the slicer out of the way, pulled meat off of it, threw it into the cooler and then started slicing what she needed. At no time while I was there, did she tell the slicer what she needed. She also started grabbing printed order slips out of peoples hands and never gave them a chance to even read what was needed.

She then realized that the shredded lettuce was low in the cooler pan. She removed it from under the table, SLAMMED it on the white cutting surface, pushed it down so hard it went from a full pan to a little over a half pan. Scooped the rest out of the old stainless steel container and then picked it up and dropped it into the table.

What kind of owner allows this kind of management to run a store? So what, there were 5 cars in drive through and 5 customers at the front counter, I was more than willing to wait a bit so that the Drive thru orders could get moved along. All other employees were nice and respectful, and I always enjoy seeing and speaking with John, but this one may have turned my stomach on Blimpie for ever.

This Blimpie is by my husband's doctor's office so we stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. Waking in, it was pretty slow since we were early dinner eaters. Three gentleman were working behind the counter and all three were fantastic! They all helped us and got our order started.

I was reluctant to ask if I could order the kids meal but I did. Dude was so nice about it! I grabbed a turkey on wheat. He added all the fun fixings for me and suggested I get a capri sun to drink. Of course I grabbed the capri sun. I also ordered a cup of the brocolli cheddar soup. We also did grab a side of mac and cheese and a couple sugar cookies as well.

My sub was great! It was the perfect size. The bread was fresh. There was a nice amount of veggies on my sammy. The mac and cheese was decent. It we really thick. The manager was kind and made a new batch of broccoli cheddar soup. I guess the stuff they had warmed up was not edible so I thought it was nice of him to heat up a new batch of soup for me. To be honest, there wasn't any cheese in the soup. It tasted like cream of broccoli. I added a packet of salt so it wasn't that bad. I dipped saltines into the soup and it was tasty.

It wasn't a 5 star meal but the staff made it that way! When I rate places, it's a collective of food and service. I will still leave a good review even if the food was just ok. That's this review right here! It was nice to have such kind people taking care...

I had never eaten at Blimpie's before so I asked the employee both what was popular and what she recommended personally. She mentioned a particular sandwich that she liked and I agreed.

She then proceeded to tell me that the chicken was frozen so she can't make me the very sandwich that she recommended. Okay so that turned out to be a painful exercise in futility.

She was friendly and probably just forgot but nevertheless I was a little disappointed.
