We finally got a chance to swing by and eat at the new Thai Bistro on Boise Avenue. We spent the day visiting artists on BOSCO (Boise Open Studios Tour) and were eagerly awaiting dinner.
We arrived early...around 6:00 to find the restaurant packed. The service was quick and attentive. We ordered two drinks, a Tangueray Gin and Tonic and a 44 West Huckleberry Lemonade Both were very good although be advised the 44 West Huckleberry Lemonade is 12% alcohol.
I ordered Pad Chaa (Spicy Sizzling Seafood) with a 5 spice rating (the highest) and my partner ordered the Green Curry with fried tofu with no spice. The meals arrived very quickly despite the full house.
The Pad Chaa was one of the best Thai meals I can remember. We cook Thai at home but this wasn't our Thai. A subtle brown sauce (probably oyster and soy and some secret ingredients) was enough to flavor the dish without overwhelming it. And the spice as a full on 5. Usually I'm disappointed when I order 5 and it comes back barely spicy. Not the case at Thai Bistro. It's Thai hot and was delicious.
My partner found the Green Curry equally delicious.
We loved Thai Bistro enough that we intend on making it a weekly destination and we'd recommend you do the same.
Great people. Great service. ...
Read moreI had the best salmon green curry I've ever had in my life anywhere on Earth at this restaurant! And I've been to Thai restaurants all over the US and many countries. If you want to know what is the best tasting food for what you're looking for talk to your server Amy who is extremely helpful and humorous. I read on Google maps that she will treat you like family and that is certainly the case. My photos are of salmon Green Curry, the regular green curry and the vegetable medley. There were four summer rolls but we ate two before thinking about taking a picture cuz they were so good! Do not pass this place up because it is very tasty and even though you might read on other reviews that the portions are small it must have been because the food was so good they ate it faster than they thought. I highly recommend this place even though I live out of state and won't be back for a long time. I wish Thai bistro was...
Read moreWe recently got takeout from Thai Bistro, and I will be honest: it wasn’t our first choice. In fact, 2 other Thai places that we usually frequent were not answering their phones and their online ordering page directed us to call the restaurant to order- but that was no help! So, I went to Thai Bistro’s website and it immediately gave me an estimate on order time (ready in 20 minutes), which was awesome. I reluctantly placed my order, my dad picked it up on his way back to my parents’ house and all went as planned. Food was hot and ready when he arrived to pick up, and even better, the food was really good! I moved away and lived in the Seattle area for years, and I got used to really good Thai food while I was there- this food didn’t disappoint! I would definitely order from or dine there again. Nice to have a yummy Thai spot right in our...
