Dillon's Pizza — Restaurant in Illinois

This was our last evening in Springfield and we wanted to go to someplace that local residents would go for pizza. We like thin crust and we found a jewel. Dillon Pizza is about 13 minutes from Veterans Drive where we were staying. Unfortunately, it does not have a dining room but right next door is "Northern Lights Lounge" where you can order the pizza and dine in. Lovely place and even though Len and I don't drink we were welcomed and made to feel right at home. Back to the pizza - OMG - what can I say. Crisp crust, a sauce that is as close to perfect as I've had in a long time, cheese is creamy, veggies crisp, Italian sausage well seasoned and precooked, pepperoni was excellent... and served HOT... Only thing I would have liked is silverware - LOL, even if I don't use it I...

This is a carrot only pizza joint. However, there is a bar next door and you can order Dillon’s pizza in the bar. They have a window cut out in the wall and your pizza gets delivered to you by the bar staff.

This was without a doubt the best Chicago style pizza we’ve had in 15+ years. The crust was thin and firm, the sauce was very flavorful, the sausage had fennel in it, and they use whole milk cheese. It was so good I felt compelled to go into the the pizza joint and...

Decided to give this local spot a try and was seriously impressed. We got the 16" sausage pizza and they definitely do not skimp on the toppings. We also tried their "cheese claw" which is basically chessy garlic bread and it was amazing. Their crust is that extra thin cracker crust with toppings all the way to the edge. The best part is they have a drive-up window so you can stay in your car.
