Great China Restaurant — Restaurant in Independence

🌟I wish I could give ZERO stars🌟 I have tried THREE different times (WITH MY BOYFRIEND) to dine/order To-Go from this restaurant, and they have EXTREMELY FAILED EVERY TIME!!! We have ate Chinese food all across the country, and this takes the trophy to being the worst EVER!!! This is not a joke, I warn anybody coming here to turn around and go elsewhere!!! When we reviewed the menu it stated that we CAN order any menu item WITHOUT MSG, and when we ordered the server stated that ALL the food has MSG; and is pre-cooked that way!!! The most biggest memorable thing was the fact all 3 times we have been there/ordered To-Go the server has always been extremely rude!!! Then when finally receiving our food, the food did not even look appealing. But, our thoughts on that was that maybe it tastes better than it looks... NOT TRUE AT ALL. The meat (chicken/beef) looked as if someone has chewed it up and cooked it and put bland sauce on it and served it with canned food of some sort. And that's exactly how it tasted! Also, all their meats had a very odd chewy texture to it that just makes you want to puke! But, we instead spit it up and didn't even bother with swallowing it... We couldn't even enjoy anything we ordered... The rice tasted as if its been sitting out for a week!!! The Chow Mein reminded us of some sort of dollar store version of canned food!!! Never going back again, they are only in business to steal peoples money, and serve food that might as well come from the...

Went here for lunch. We ordered from the dinner menu. Three sides: crab rangoon, egg roll, egg drop soup. Yummy, but soup comes w no crispy noodles, so my mother was disappointed. For my meal, i ordered House Fried Rice that was w shrimp and chicken. Chicken was VERY dry. Mom ordered Shrimp Lo Mein, but noodles weren't like lo mein ought to be. But it was otherwise just ok. We came here bc of the great reviews. We do not want to come back mostly bc the female server (the manager) was not friendly, just rude. And she wouldnt swap out my meal for something different. I still had to pay for undesirable food. The chicken was so dry, i asked for it to be taken back, no charge. We eat out a lot and i never leave reviews. But, this is the first time i was denied a replacement meal. She said no bc no one else complains. So i didn't have a meal, bc she was going to charge me for something new And the bad food Also. If the manager replies to this, saying anything otherwise, it's untrue. She said she'd rather me leave a bad review instead of replacing my meal. Will not come back, and will not recommend. ...

Super good Chinese food. I haven't had this good Asian food since I lived on the West Coast! Nice little gem in the middle of the U.S. My wife and I travel at least once a week 25 miles to this restaurant to get take out and 25 miles back home. It is that good! So worth the hour wait to get some GREAT! Great China that is! Normally shrimp lo mein everywhere else has baby shrimp. The shrimp lo mein at Great China is made with JUMBO shrimp! So good!! Make sure you have cash or checks handy, because they don't accept credit/debit cards. So worth it though! The Phoenix and Dragon dish is amazing! General's chicken is the best I've had anywhere! Egg rolls are enormous and made fresh and from scratch! Crab ragoon actually has crab! Novel concept other Chinese restaurants might should try! This place is so good!
