First reccomendation, just drive to Fredonia, you will get better service from them over the Independence Water's True Value, it will be worth your miles. My mother's refrigerator went out at our farm between Indy and Fredonia. Had I been aware that the Fredonia store sold appliances, I would have gone there. I called and chatted with Water's True Value in Independence and asked about delivery fees, appliances available and how to simplify this process for my 83 year old mother. I was assured the delivery and haul off fee was $50 and that they could send photos and we could make this pretty easy. My Mother arranged for the purchase of the Crosley Refrigerator at their strong reccomendation. They also charged her $100 for delivery and pick up of the old refrigerator, which , at this point, fine. Fast forward 60 days, we walk into the farm to find the refrigerator screeching and not working. The freezer had puddles of water and everything was destroyed. My mother called True Value in Independence and they were LESS than helpful. They told her they would fill out a work ticket but there was nothing they could do. We spoke with Morgan, the manager, who also seemed to be not concerned that the 60 day old refrigerator was not working and she finally, when pressed, said that worke order went to McClennen in Coffeyville. We followed up with McClennen. They don't drive to the Fredonia area. I asked if the True Value in Independence knew that and was told that they ABSOLUTELY knew that and had been told that repeatedly. We called Morgan back and again, not concerned at all, argued and said that they did. And they had no idea that they would not come this way. I asked for another tech that would. After a hold, Morgan, the not helpful, but smug person she is, came back on and said that Mike's Repair service would call,, again, sometime in the amorpheus future, but had no idea when. Of course we have never heard from Mike, and I'm sure that Waters True Value has no care in the world that our refrigerator does not work. ENTER the awesome True Value in Fredonia. who within 3 minutes, got us in touch with a repair person who will be out in the morning. So, just drive over to Fredonia and see the good people at the...
Read moreWe have shopped at Newton's True Value for years and have always been pleased with their service. We recently purchased a washer and dryer at what is now Water's Hardware. The sales person told us the units were so quiet other customers had questioned whether they were running. We decided we wanted to deal locally rather than going to Bartlesville and probably paid significantly more than if we had dealt with Lowe's. Unfortunately for us the machines are anything but quiet and the end cycle buzzer is so loud it makes us jump even in the next room. When we contacted Water's they had no solution for the noise problem and said they did not accept returns of washers and dryers. I guess if I had a word of advice I would say to not buy any appliance at Water's Hardware. We are not pleased with the false claims and or the lack of customer service. After years of doing business with Newton's I am sad to say we probably won't be doing business with Water's...
Read moreThis is no longer Newton True Value. It is now called Waters Hardware. They are criminals.
I purchased two of the same items for $16.49 each. After getting home and installing, I determined that one item was exactly what I needed. As I headed out to make an exchange, I noticed on the receipt that the items were $17.99. No big deal. They can credit back the amount. This type of thing happens all the time.
They would not take my return because water had flowed thru it. Fine. I get that. But they would not correct the incorrect scan amount. The cashier was just in the middle and had to deal with my anger.
