Very classy tile mosaic floors. wall and trim, have plants and a honey comb pattern that gives an air of modernity. The atmosphere though is laid back, and unhurried, casual yet classy.
Service I imagine is slower at busier times, we happened to luck out and beat the dinner rush so we had our very patient and exuberant server Ashley mostly to ourselves. She made some excellent suggestions for food pairings and we chatted awhile about life in South East Kansas.
The food is and I pray always will be amazing though certainly not cheap. A treat that is well worth time and genuine talent it takes to make it. The meals are all started with a side salad and some fresh baked rolls. I have always been a sucker for muscles and scallops, and the tuto mare over linguini with a marinara (suggested by our hostess Ashley) was exceptional. Perfectly cooked noodles a complex sauce and clean delicious not over cooked molluscs is my idea of a good time. My wife had the chicken marssala and liked it well enough to pack some for home. Our deserts were the Italian classics ladyfingers and canoli. The canoli being a chocolate take on the traditional cookie they were out of the normal ones. That being said the tiermisu was absolutely rich and decadent without being overly pungent with amaretto and the canoli was a joy of childhood especially with the hand spun sugar creme inside though a little sweet for my blood.
All in all this is one of the only places in all of Kansas I trust to make seafood linguini, or Italian...

First of all, the staff was extremely attentive and friendly. There wasn't a single server who didn't check in on us.
Second, the food was great. We had the fried ravioli appetizer. My husband ordered the meatball sub (which was huge), and I had the canneloni. All was fresh, hot, and oh-so-cheesey! We got some tiramisu to take home and it was divine.
Third, the prices to portion ratio seems reasonable.
Fourth, the atmosphere is inviting and appoints the features of the historic Booth Hotel nicely without being overpowered by decor.
The only critique I have is with plastic cups used for service and the warm can of soda left at the table for my refill. Yes, I had a cup of ice so the soda was cold, but I found this a bit unusual for a restaurant of this calibur. I'm just assuming it is only a small wrinkle as the restaurant is getting it's footing.
We enjoyed our experience and look forward to trying more of the menu...
Read moreMy daughter and I had dinner at Joe’s Italian Restaurant after a fundraiser, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. We were so grateful they were open until 10 PM since our event didn’t end until 8 PM. Located in the historic Booth Hotel, the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful, with stunning chandeliers adding to the charm.
We were seated immediately, and the service was fantastic—everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They started us off with delicious bread, and our food arrived quickly. My daughter ordered the kids’ spaghetti with marinara sauce, which was not only delicious but also the perfect portion size for a kids’ menu. I had the lobster ravioli, and it was amazing—rich, flavorful, and a generous portion. Even though we were stuffed, we couldn’t resist ordering a strawberry cheesecake to-go, which was the perfect sweet ending to our meal.
Joe’s Italian is truly a gem in Indy, and we’re so lucky to have it. We’ll...
