Walgreens — Local services in Independence

An awful experience with the Pharmacy for the second time. Last time the woman working was just plain rude. This time I got there and asked for my prescription, for pain meds for an injury. They said it wasn’t ready. I’m in pain but said “No problem, I will look around a bit.” 20 mins later I check back in. Nope. 10 minutes. Not ready. 15 minutes more, I check back and she says “the pharmacist just has to check it” I come back to the window in 10 minutes and she asks again if she can help me. It’s like Groundhog day in there. Each time I walk out of sight it’s like they’ve never seen me before. I repeat my name for the 5th time, and say “I have been here waiting for my prescription for an hour, could you please see if it’s ready?” She leaves me standing there while she waits on 2 other customers at the drive up window, and then comes back and says that it will be a few more minutes because it has been sent to their Missouri location. (Probably would have gotten it faster if I drove to Missouri) I just stand there waiting and she goes just out of sight and tells the others “She is very impatient.” I just walked out. The pain of dealing with them was as bad as the injury. I’m beginning to understand why the others I work with (who have the same insurance) drive to Bartlesville for their prescriptions. My newest curse upon the scourge of humanity is “May you be forced to deal with the Independence...

Wg has cosmetics on sale. I wanted to buy $30 worth but stood in line....stood in line. Something about a timed cash drawer...then a customer walks in from outside with a debit card and either finishes checking out ahead of myself and another customer. I guess we were waiting on her to retrieve a card and did not know it. Cashier sh have cancelled that transaction and checked us out. But she did not do so to save the headache of cancelling transaction. Mgr. walked up with cash and vanished. Does WG only have one checkout? Cashier seemed slow, no conversation happening...no explanation. I also was trying to think where my rarely used WG card was as they want it for any discount which irritates me. Why did Merle Norman close? So I laid the merchandise down and left. Hire a cashier that can do job. I will not use self cks. I will not come...

I enjoyed myself and was able to find lots of nice inexpensive instant foods i like; I'll be back! The lady was really nice and greeted me warmly on the way in, scanned each item individually as I am sure they prefer, and bagged all the like items together in a way that makes perfect sense.
