Disappointed. Not worth the money. I really was hoping some of these 1 star reviews weren’t true. (Some seem to have underlaying circumstances though). I really was hoping this would have been a good spot for dinner; however, it was not a good first go. Let me start with the pros: staff was super friendly, polite, and conversational. House salad was fantastic, came with delicious ranch dressing, scallops were good, and their fries were the best! This place has a lot of potential, but still seems to be working out some kinks. The cons of the evening: Seated right away, but waited 5 minute to be seen and it wasn’t by our server initially. We waited another 5 for our waitress to greet us after given waters and 3 hush puppies while we waited for her. (I’ll add that given the time we arrived, there were plenty of wait staff for the amount of people there). I added a coffee (which was wonderful!) and my husband a special drink from their menu and it was very distasteful. I can’t remember the name of the drink, but it had pina colada mix in it. I ordered an appetizer of mozzarella sticks, panned shrimp and crab with butter, baked potato, and upcharge for the house salad. Husband ordered the Bill Fish Captain platter. side note menu online talks about a country boil, but that part of the menu was not made available…I really wish I would’ve asked because that’s what I really wanted. After waiting about 45 minutes after we ordered the food, my husband’s order came out correctly, my plate was completely different. I had the panned crab and shrimp, but they gave me fries instead of a baked potato and steamed veggies instead of the salad. We had to ask for the salad (which should have been offered to come out first and received within 10 minutes of ordering) and we never received our mozzarella sticks as an appetizer so we mentioned that as well and they brought them out a minute later. When asked about the baked potato they said “oh we’re out.” Although the fries were amazing, I would have liked the option to choose a different side. Hoping the food would enhance the experience, it still was lacking. We paid $112 for the 2 meals plus 1 drink and and a coffee along with an appetizer. My crab and shrimp was colder than luke warm (which could have came from trying to scarf down my salad that came out at the same time), the mozzarella sticks were the exact same way after trying one as soon as they came out. My husband’s flounder looked under cooked (See photo). It looked really mushy and slimy and he said it wasn’t good. The shrimp and crab would have been fine, it was just cold and nothing super exciting about it. Again…it was just disappointing. Not worth the money for average food. It does have potential and the people were so friendly, I hate to leave them a bad review because they were the...
Read moreTonight we had a poor experience. Our waitress was nice, but the food took far too long to get to our table. Especially considering there were only ever 4 tables in use in the dining room at any given time. There was a table of 12 upstairs but I personally saw at least 3 people expediting food upstairs so they were well covered, 1 male and 2 female wait staff.
Next our waitress, although attentive, miscommunicated the number of sides that came with my father’s meal, told him he could also have a potato, then told him his meal only came with one side. Simple mistake, but disappointing when you’re paying $55 for a steak, and had to wait for as long as we did. Then my brother got 5 lobster ravioli's in sauce for $44….not embellishing…yeah 5 ravioli, which no doubt tasted good, but were a very far and away ask for their very large price point.
My Brother in law hated the shrimp butter thing unfortunately. He got so mad he didn’t want to talk at dinner, so this was disappointing.
Every single plate that hit our table of 8 people came one….at….a….time…..after an hour and a half of waiting, and watching 2 other tables get their food when they came in at least 15 minutes after we ORDERED.
I just don’t understand, if you ask for a premium price you’d better have premium service, and tonight it was slow, poorly communicated, nothing was fixed on our bill even though the waitress said she’d talk to a manager who never came…..so for a $463 dollar bill for 8 people and an automatically applied $72 tip included in that amount….how absolutely ridiculous and honestly insulting, that you believe you can charge what you do for this horribly long and poorly managed service. I felt bad for my dad having to foot the bill for this place. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends or any other tourists that I meet. Go somewhere you can take your kids and family that gives value and that you leave happy and full, with enough cash to actually do something on the island, this place is not worth 4.1 stars at the time of writing this, the only reason I’m not giving it a 1 is because I enjoyed my Snow Crab legs, and I liked that the waitress was always kind to me, despite the dumpster fire that was that...
Read moreWonderful experience! We called on a Monday to make a reservation for a party of 8 for that same evening and were fortunate to get in, as they were quite busy when we left. The waiter recommended the most popular cocktails and they did not disappoint! Try the Mullet Bowl if you like a little bit of a sweet drink with a pineapple citrus flair. We had young children with us, and they did a lovely job accommodating. While the atmosphere is more suited for adult dining, this place has a nice little menu for kids, crayons, and they shot out the kids’ food quick to keep them content. Now for the amazing dinner…. The panned crab and shrimp was delightful. I opted to add scallops to my meal as the menu offers. They pan seared the scallops to perfection. The shrimp and crab were resting in a dish of warm butter. Some other reviews might complain that there was a lack of seasonings, but if you’re a true sea food lover, you know that fresh seafood like this only needs a tiny squeeze of lemon and it is absolutely heavenly! This was the freshest shrimp I have ever eaten. For the two sides, I had pilaf and a baked potato. (There was a very popular potato that was out because it was so popular! Can’t wait to go back to try it). The Pilaf had a spicy sauce drizzled over it. The baked potato was your usual, it was done right, with butter and sour cream on the side. Another person in my party got the same meal and we agreed about how wonderful it was. The only difference is that he got steamed veggies. He said the zucchini and squash were were cooked until soft but still held a good crunch, which he felt was better than steamed veggies you get at other restaurants. The last thing I can share is that another person in our party loved and devoured the fried scallops and hush puppies. We all left happy! You can see that the owners pour their heart and souls into their restaurant and it’s heart warming. This was our first visit and we will be back every year thanks to this...
