WOW the first Italian restaurant we experienced in the Pittsburgh area that was clean, inviting, and had authentic food. We started with some drinks, their espresso martini is good. I can't say enough about Sean who was our bartender and server. A huge shoutout to Sean, the nicest person who accommodated my confusing requests. We decided to sample a plethora of dishes. We started with the arancini which was good, the Neapolitan was better than the Sicilian style (la mia famiglia è napoletana). We also ordered the Escarole, Beans, & Sausage which was very good. We have difficulties getting escarole where we are from so this was a nice treat for us. I was ecstatic that I was able to get fried pizza and Sean was so awesome about my order because I wanted it like when I was a child in Italy. Along with the fried pizza, I ordered the Pappardelle alla Funghi and my husband ordered the Veal Parmigiano. Both were delicious but the pappardelle was better than the veal but that's just our opinion. For dessert we had the tiramisu which we found to be the best we had in the area. Now the espresso, definitely very good. Overall, the was the BEST Italian we have experienced in the area. We wish we had found it the first week we were here but at least we found it! Thank you il Pizzaiolo for a wonderful dinner and the plethora of leftovers that I get to nosh on. Also Thank you Sean for making our evening enjoyable!

This establishment features the best of the best ingredients locally sourced fresh and flown in straight from Italy. Truly something here for everyone. Don’t think just of the off the charts delicious woodfire pizza, Il Pizzaiolo is so much more than that. The Antipasto Napoli features a delightful mix of perfectly seasoned and grilled vegetables for the vegan and gluten-free diner. As General Manager Jason B. Grant explained, the buffalo mozzarella, burrata and ricotta are flown in fresh from Italy. I had the pleasure of experiencing the light as a feather, homemade spinach and ricotta stuffed Tortellini in a light cream sauce. These cloud-shaped morsels virtually floated off the plate. And of course, you should not forgo tasting the generous meal-sized Tutto Polpette (meatballs) appetizer. Sarah Kennedy, the master mixologist, applied her craft skillfully, with her signature Basil Pear Martini. All in all, a real gem located in the hills of O’Hara Township. Certainly deserves a 10 star rating!

Do you like burning your cash? Are you fond of taking money out of your wallet and throwing it out your window? If so, this place is for you! I ordered a take out order, pizza, pasta, mixed salad (small size). By the way, the online menu conveniently doesn't list any prices... The pasta was "pomodoro" - so simply tomato and spaghetti. That's it. The pizza cost $18. Not great, but its good pizza. The spaghetti? $21. I saw it on my bill and asked it it was a mistake. Nope! The same pasta at Enrico's would be 50% less easily. Was it a giant portion? Nope. Both staff members agreed that the price was ridiculous. My total 3 small items was $55. Did the spaghetti have truffles on it? Gold shavings? Was it blessed by the Pope? I want this place to succeed - I like the interior, the location, and that they're bringing good Italian food to the area. But the prices are outrageous. They lost a customer.

I ordered a calzone from the pizza section of the menu and they didn't bring me a pizza, they brought me a calzone. I'm not sure why they put a calzone in the pizza section if it's not a pizza.

Everything there is overpriced, basically twice what it should cost. $18 for a calzone with no side, or anything else? It should be $9.

$28 for Linguine? I'm not sure how they justify these prices.

We came with 8 people, and they put us at a 6 seat table. Instead of moving another table over, they just put cramped us into the 6 seat table.

They don't refill your water glass, they just put a bottle of water on the table, and when that's all used up, guess what? They don't bring over more water. Look, if you're going to charge this much for food, and include the gratuity, the bare minimum you can do is give us water.

The windows should be tinted, they're way to bring making it hard to see the people across the table in contrast to the bright light behind them.

And the handicap parking space is not next to the front door. Why even bother having a handicap parking space if you're going to put regular parking closer to the door than handicap parking?

Okay, now for some positives. There's nothing wrong with the food it's self, it tasted like average pizza, salad, and calzone. Everything was clean, the tables and chairs, and everything was clearly built of high quality materials. And even though the wait staff didn't refil out water, there was no problems other than that, they were friendly. And it was someone's birthday and they gave them a desert for free.

Really my main complaint is the price. That $22 Stracciatella pizza, and that $22 Salumiera Pizza. No those are not a family size pizza, they are not 16 or 18 inches. Nope they are 10 inch pizza for $22 plus tax and tip. If you get a drink, you could easily end up paying $60 for 2 people to...

We were very excited to try the "new" restaurant on Harts Run Road. Our family (6 of us) were able to fit in on a Sunday night with little notice in advance. The atmosphere was warm and delightful, much more than we expected. The menu was inviting but our experience really left us pondering.... 1. We had to remind our server to bring one of the drinks many times and after most of us had almost finished our first drinks (he ordered bottled soda, no reason to wait on the bar), 2. We had to grab small plates from a neighboring table when our apps came and we had no plates (even after we asked). When we shared with our server that we had to borrow from another empty table, the server's comment was "oh, go ahead". 3. We had to ask for grated parmesan after waiting for a bit staring at our pasta (why isn't this second nature in this restaurant to have the server or the runner return to the table with fresh parmesan?), 4. The coffee came with a plastic creamer on the side. We were pleased with the meal - it was delicious. BUT the poor attention to detail was shocking in a restaurant that seemed to cover...
