If I could give 0 stars, I would. Absolutely horrendous service. I called and reserved a table for my family to celebrate my mother in laws birthday, one week prior to coming to the restaurant. I called again the day off to confirm that we are good to go, and via phone call, all was fine and we were all set. We come in last night, I say my name and reservation time. The gentleman that appeared to be manager or owner told me at the host stand that I did not make the reservation, I then showed him my phone receipts of the phone calls and STILL told me I was wrong. I couldn’t believe that this was happening, turned around, in shock, to see other guests in the waiting area, were just as surprised at how terrible this “manager”/“owner” was treating me. He was an older man. A blonde woman tried to make up for how awful this man was being. She is the only reason they even get 1 star. We will never be back and I will tell all who ever even think of coming here that this place is terrible and will treat you like dirt on your shoe. I said to the young waiter filling up our drinks I hope he doesn’t treat you like he treats his paying customers. We went somewhere else because the other server, appeared to be late 20s server taking our drink order, was snooty to my father in law while ordering drinks, and we had just had it, so we got up and decided to leave. I told the blonde woman that we are leaving for how awful we are being treated, the manager came up and was pointing his finger at me, still hellbent that I didn’t make the reservation. Even after showing proof and the blonde woman agreed, yes, she talked to me and I confirmed that morning that all is ready and we are good to go for the evening. All around I think there is 1 good employee, she was blonde and very pleasant and welcoming and was willing to try to make up for it. After looking at some of reviews, they were also treated similarly. I hope some people can prove me wrong, and I sincerely hope that they have some sort of meeting as a restaurant to treat...
Read moreDid not know this restaurant was on Princess Way in Granger. We happened upon it the other day and thought this would be a nice place for us to have a special night out. The ambiance in this restaurant is very nice with some older rat pack music in the back ground. We ordered the stuck mushroom appetizer and it was fabulous. I ordered the chicken with mushrooms and Italian sausage in a white wine gravy, while my wife got the filet. We also ordered side salads, which is not part of the entree cost. My wife’s small fillet was $32 and my chicken was $27. The side salads were $5.50 each, plus my wife ordered a soft drink. We did not know the soft drink consisted of a 12oz can/bottle of soda ( no free refill ) for almost $4 ea. My wife got a Coke and I got water. My wife had the tiramisu for desert. All in, before the tip, $107. The food was very good, but not top chef prices good… I think you would enjoy Papa Vino’s much more for the price difference. I think probably the biggest let down for me was charging almost $4 for a 12 oz can/bottle of soda. I get you believe your food is worth the price you are charging and you leave the choice up to the customer if they want to come back for the price, but charging that much for one can of soda was simply ripping your customer off and insulting. Good food… just not...
Read moreIf the bill was half the price we still would have paid too much. The food was mediocre to say the least.
The appetizers we got was a plate of average salami with some cheese and olives and a small portion of slightly overcooked calamari. The bread that was served was the most standard dinner roll with butter. I don't know what real Italians eat in Italy but please lie to me. Serve me nice bread with olive oil and spices or something. I could have gotten those rolls anywhere.
Apperantly everyone who doesn't get a pasta dish is served the same two sides. Four of us got a non pasta dish and all were given the same thing. You can tell the potatoes were made well in advance and were lukewarm when they arrived. The other side was literally some steamed spears of carrot, way too big chunks of cauliflower and some brocolli. There was no cohesion to any entree that was offered. At least the halibut tasted fine but I can't say it was worth the money. If the pasta is homemade you can't tell.
I'm pretty sure no one was impressed by their dessert.
The restaurant was otherwise clean and looked nice. Our...
