Dupont Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Indiana

We were led to DuPont Bar & Grill via the Rusty Spur. We went to the Rusty Spur first because we looked at the reviews and they were only two points higher than the Dupont Bar & Grill. My husband said the DuPont Bar & Grill has really good food, but he was open to trying something new. When we got to the Rusty Spur they weren’t serving food at 4:30 in the afternoon. Too bad for them because anytime we are near Parkview North again we are coming straight to DuPont Bar & Grill. Their food was awesome! The best loaded fries I’ve ever had. If you are a bacon lover these are an awesome choice! Their nachos were top notch too. We ran out of chips before toppings and were provided more chips. Usually you get less toooings than chips at other places.We shared the appetizers and the portions were a very good size. That’s not all even though it’s a little smoky when you come in the atmosphere and amazing food makes you forget it quickly. Our server Christina was awesome too. I've been here at least 20 times over the past few years and feel it's a good "go to" bar when you feel like tipping back a few beers and watching a game. It's mostly dudes on weekday/weeknights who stop in for a beer after work. Lots of guys by themselves just minding their own business before heading home to the wife or girlfriend. You can access an online jukebox but, if nobody is playing songs, it defaults to a local radio station. It can be a bit annoying having to sit through 8 minute commercial breaks between songs when that happens. The grilled wings are excellent and the staff is pretty on the ball (there have been multiple times when the bartender was either talking in their phone or sitting over at a table by the bathrooms talking to someone and I had to wait an extra few minutes for a drink). The only reason it's not 5 stars is because they allow smoking in there and I always have to consider the smell of my clothes afterwards before I ultimately go in there. If I'm just in the mood for 2-3 beers then I sometimes go next door to their non-smoking...

I normally love this place! But today was ridiculous. My dad and I come in here all the time for food drinks and to play pool, today we sat at the bar because we were very hungry. The bar tender for some reason was purposely avoiding us. I get I look young but she has seen me before, she took my drink order and asked if I wanted menus I told her yes. For 20 mind she never got our menus so we got up and got our own. She saw us looking at them she kept helping the gentleman right next to me but refused to help us. At one point we got her attention and told her when she got a minute to come help us. She still helped others and avoided us. So I cashed out and took my business else where today. She not only lost the business money but lost her tip as well. I'm a bartender myself and a hair dresser and I live on tips. This women did a very poor job I am so surprised by this because normally our service is fantastic. I hope the company follows up and speaks to this women regarding the way she treated us so others don't leave feeling...
