I ate at this location within a few days of its grand opening. The food tasted good, the staff was friendly, it was very clean inside. The only negative thing was the portion sizes of everything.
The portions are a lot smaller than other locations I have eaten at across the midwest. At other Bibibop's, the bowl is heaping with food and it makes it a bit difficult to eat because there's so much in the bowl! But that makes you feel like you got a good deal. At this location, the bowl was maybe 2/3rds of the way full. It looked lacking and a bit disappointing if you've eaten at Bibibop before. Kind of like: oh, is this it.. I'm usually full after a bowl, but that wasn't really the case here.
They were quite skimpy with the toppings. I asked for broccoli and was given 2 pieces. I asked for extra broccoli and they put another 2 small pieces on. The same for the kimchi, pickled onion, carrots, potatoes, cucumbers.. a tiny amount. Like 4 potato cubes and 4 pieces of pickled onion.. Even for the base - not a lot of noodles or rice. The Korean chicken meat option was $5 dollars extra, which I knew, but I was only given 3 half sized tenders! They're a bit on the smaller side already, so $1.50+ per half tender is a pretty bad deal. The measuring scoop for steak was only filled up about 2/3rds of the way too.
I'm not sure if it's because this location is new, because they were afraid of running out due to it being the first location in the city with a lot of public interest, or if this is just how it's going to be at this location. Hopefully they amp up the portion sizes to standard once they've settled...
Read moreI waited almost half an hour in the line...10 minutes of that was making my own bowl because the lady was going back and forth making the process longer. It made no sense. There was two staff members. One working the front line and another working on I'm assuming online orders. There was a duo in front of me who ordered and paid all in a succession. Then some lady cut around to the counter looking for a pickup order. The lady upfront went to find it and start working on that.... ignoring me who was standing in line. It was a while before someone came to take my order. The lady who was doing online orders (and apparently not well or quickly) came up to the bar and asked what I would like. She got my bases and then walked away to work on more online orders. Couple minutes go by and she comes back to do my hot toppings. Then walks away again. She then moves to the next person getting their bases. THEN WALKS AWAY. She kept doing this for every station and person. This just went on. Finish one thing at a time rather than making a single order take 10 minutes. I can tell you what I want and pay in under that time and just be out of your hair. Why work on at least 3 separate orders? I don't even know where the first lady went, she was working on more online orders I guess. Online orders should NOT take precedent over customers inside the building. I was in the building for half an hour with only 2 people in front of me. Not acceptable.
Also why are the portions SO SMALL. 2 pieces of broccoli? 2 leaves of kimchi? I'm not trying to be greedy but can we use not toddler...
Read morei’ve tried this place three times. two out for the three times we have had issues. first time was great! second time found a long black curly hair in my food. Last night we ordered a pick up order. The order was set to me done at 6:21. We arrived at 6:21 and went inside to grab our order. the girl at the register couldn’t be bothered to read the names on the bags of the pick up orders. She was also on her phone most of the time we were waiting. after asking three times if our order was ready she finally went back and looked. big surprise our food has been ready for 45 mins! we didn’t get our food until 7… It was cold and she didn’t even offer a refund or a discount. Girl does not need to work there if she can’t take 30 seconds to walk to the back and read a slip of paper. Don’t think we will ever go back even tho the food is good....
