Yesterday May 13th my friend had a birthday dinner at Daddy Jacks. Everyone order appetizers. Everyone bill arrives. I left 40% of my bill. The party disperse, the Birthday girl and I go to the restroom. I come out by myself first then immediately approached by a tall white male that did not identify himself. He states “this is unacceptable” I was confused and felt threatened as he slammed the receipts down on the table. I looked at the receipts realizing that two out 8 people in our party did not leave a tip. I was caught off guard. My first thought to him. “I left a tip”. He says I didn’t say this was your bill. To sum it up. I was embarrassed, mortified and felt so targeted. Finally, I told him to speak to the birthday girl. Which I feel bad now because I should have protected her from the disrespect on her birthday. The fool of a manager made a scene by the front door, that’s all he accomplished. My friend gave the waitress extra money. My issue with him is how I was approached and he should have came to the table to approach the individuals that did not leave a tip. I don’t agree with the two individuals not leaving a tip, that is unethical however it’s not mandatory. He can’t go around thinking his white priveledge can bully customers into leaving a tip. I will never go back; I’ve never been so humiliated in my...
Read moreAm posting this from a visit a couple months ago that I can't forget. I was dining with 2 other persons at lunch, on a weekday. Everyone except the waitress server at this restaurant was fine. The waitress at lunchtime was atrocious. Brought my food out well after the first two persons were served I had to ask twice for a condiment I paid cash separate from the other diners. My chane was NOT brought back to me whereas the other 2 diners received theirs immediately. I did NOT say the $ residual was a tip. I had to walk and FIND the waitress myself after waiting about 5 minutes and I asked for my change and erceipt. The waitress huffily brought my change to the table, left it without saying a word.
Why did I still leave her a gratuity well beyoind what she should have received (which should have been none)? Maybe she was having a bad day, or maybe she was singling me out for some reason I don't know.
But to this day I won't go back to Daddy Jack's because of that one waitress. Too bad, because seems like all the other workers there were cordial. Just this one person who should be fired a...
Read moreI went in to get some Sushi for a late lunch around 2pm, while my sister was having surgery down the street. I’d never been there before and went to the bar to order my food to go. The staff was very friendly, and let me know that the Sushi was part of the Kona Jack’s restaurant that is connected, but that they close and stop serving Sushi at 2pm until they open for dinner again.
The waiter told me to hang on just a moment and went and asked if they would still be able to make me a Sushi Roll, and they said yes! I thought that was awesome because I was really wanting some Sushi! I asked the waiter what he thought was the best Sushi Roll and he told me that the most popular one was the Blue Roll, so I ordered that.
LET 👏🏼 ME 👏🏼 TELL 👏🏼 YOU…. it was THE BEST Sushi Roll I’ve EVER had!!!! It was soooooo fricking good!!! 🫶🏼
I was really grateful for the staff members doing whatever they could to make sure I got what I wanted, it really says a lot about how they value their customers! Will definitely be going again for another Sushi Roll for sure! Highly...
