It makes sense as to why this is one of the highest rated Mexican places in Indy. As many of the fellow reviewers, I too am visiting from California and wanted to test out some places. When I saw the menu, I knew I had to try it.
I got a large order but the main things to mention from it was the Pechuga Gallo de Oro, Asada Chimichanga, the Chorizo Dip, and the salsas. I didn't think grilled chicken topped with white cheese, chorizo, and a couple pineapple slices would've been too great, but I'm so glad I was wrong. The flavor of all of it together with the corn tortillas, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and orange salsa is still making my mouth water.
The Asada Chimichanga, although not "Mexican" (from who you ask), was still so good. The meat wasn't dry like you'd find in other Chimichanga's, and there was this sauce or crema on top that made it have a great balance of crunch and softness.
The chorizo dip was definitely different than what I'm used to. Usually when you see chorizo and white queso dip it's in a cast iron skillet with a small piece of chorizo and the cheese hardens after 5 minutes. DEFINITELY not what I got here, it was a great queso that never hardened with a hearty serving of chorizo ground up and mixed in there. Mix that with their orange salsa, Verde salsa, or their guac salsa, and you've got trouble on your hands!
All in all, this place is better than 75% of the places I've been to back home in CA and the southwest. You will not regret going here, and I...
Read moreListen. I don't write reviews, but the food was too good not to!
Very much just a hole in the wall, traditional Mexican restaurant. Found it cause we were on the west side and it had almost perfect 5 🌟 with a couple hundred reviews.
Parking is minimal at best, but literally my only gripe.
Upon entering, we were immediately noticed and allowed to sit wherever. Before even getting a word in, we were given waters, chips, salsa, queso, and 3 housemade sauces 😵💫
The menu is fairly extensive, along with an entire drink selection as well, so I'm sure there's something for everyone. Maybe 7 minutes until we received all out actual food. Between my partner and I, we got 2 chicken tacos, 2 steak tacos, 1 chicken quesadilla, and arroz con Pollo o asada. Everything was absolutely delicious! Flavor-filled, hot, juicy, and savory as hell! Something about the quesadilla stood out as easily one of the most flavorful basic quesadillas I've ever had. When I asked our waitress what they did to it, she admitted it's a house-secret butter blend for frying the tortillas 😂
Overall, if you're craving Mexican food, do not miss on this place! It's easily gonna be our go-to Mexican place on the west side from now on!
For pricing, we spent 42$ before tax and tip with the above. The tacos for reference were $3.50 a piece (I feel like based on a staple item's price, you can always kinda gauge how much other stuff will be;...
