It was my husband's birthday, and we were looking for some late night food that wasn't fast food. We were happy to see this place was open, as we mostly eat vegan and options can be limited, particularly late at night. Upon entering, we weren't sure if they were still offering food as all the patrons were sitting in the bar area. The first person to greet us confirmed they were still serving food and motioned toward the bar, but someone else came by and said we were welcome to sit anywhere. We chose a booth as it has better back support. The server recommended a vegetarian-friendly dish after we indicated we didn't eat meat. Service was fast and friendly, and both the server and another gentleman came by to see how we were enjoying the food, and brought us extra bread. They even left to try to find a birthday dessert and apologized that there wasn't anything left at the late hour, which was so sweet! We ordered the naytsom beb-aynetu and everything was fantastic, the best Ethiopian we've had thus far. My husband had mentioned he liked spicy food, and the server kindly offered to bring him extra spice since my spice tolerance is lower and we ordered accordingly. My husband loved it and the server took the time to give us information about what it was called (mitmita) and where to find it. The atmosphere is simplistic but that's not super important to us. We live an hour away and have added it to our list of favorite places whenever we're in town. Highly...
Read moreWonderful find! Super delicious Ethiopian restaurant tucked away in a strip mall. Easy to miss it.. small entrance without much signage or windows seemed forbidding, but we're glad we gave it a try.
We shared the mixed platter (sorry, not sure of proper name) - see photo. That picture doesn't do it justice. It was the size of a large pizza platter, way more than enough for two. Probably eight different dishes, with perfectly spongy injera bread and everything tasty.
It was also nice meeting the owner, who was so welcoming. Congrats on the new biz!
We'll definitely be back and encourage anyone who enjoys Ethiopian food (or who doesn't know it yet) to...
Read moreWe arrived as soon as the restaurant opened. Correction we arrived when it should have been opened. Either way the restaurant had a party the evening before, therefore the owner had to clean the and arrange the seats while we were sitting. It is a very spacious restaurant for a new owner and it's a really good space to begin.
We ordered our food or I don't know what ate but it was all good ❤️ it was nice and consistently hot and very flavorful. I asked that is not spicy and it was just perfect.
We asked for hot ginger tea, and he gave us black tea. 🤷🏽♀️
T is the owner and you should...
