Hardee’s — Restaurant in Indianapolis

At roughly 3:35 p.m. On July 1st 2025 my wife and I arrived at the Hardee's fast food restaurant located at 4401 E. 10th St. ZIP Code 46201. We went through the drive-through and began to place our order. Before we could order we were met with a tense and rude Male that was working the drive-through window on this day. We placed our order with him and he asked us to repeat a couple of things and we did so, after which we proceeded to the window to pay for the order. Once we pulled up to the drive-through window a verbal exchange of some kind happened in the parking lot to the right of us near the Little Caesars Pizza. It began to escalate and get very loud but we could not see the people that were having the exchange. My wife and I being familiar with that area we just made sure to pay close attention and prepared ourselves to drive off in case any kind of shooting would begin to take place. This happens to be an area where a lot of shootings happen often not to mention even a mailman was shot just a block or so away from this Hardee's. As the argument began to grow louder and louder the gentleman that was working the fast food window brought us our order and it was obviously wrong. My wife did not want to call attention to it as by that point we were ready to leave due to the argument that was transpiring beside us. The next thing I know the gentleman at the window, after bringing our last item began to yell at my wife. I turned my attention for second away from the argument that was happening on the other side of us to see my wife then not say anything back but simply just close the car door. I'm in the passenger seat and the back car window was down so I could see the man clearly; I watched him open the drive-through window and stick his head out of the window as we slowly began to pull off and he yelled once again at my wife "I said you have a nice day!!" I know for sure that I never heard my wife speak during the transaction of taking either item. So I'm not sure what was wrong with the gentleman. My wife didn't have a lot to say one because he was extremely rude from the start of the service and two there was a loud and very serious incident unfolding right beside us and we could've potentially been caught in a crossfire should the worst had've happened god forbid. Once we got home I gave a call to the store and spoke with a woman who said that she was the manager. I believe she is Martha S. I explained to her our experience and what happened and she was very nonchalant about it. She told me, "oh we're used to those kind of exchanges happening around here they happen all the time it's no big deal." She had a blatant disregard for our fear and safety and you could feel that it just didn't matter to her. I went on to tell her that I know this area and our focus was on that incident unfolding because we didn't want to be caught in a crossfire of some kind, and I also told her I didn't understand the nature of or the reason why her employee was yelling at my wife for her to simply say hello or thank you or goodbye. None of it made sense to me. She simply said "I'll say something to him." And then she went on to ask me "is that all?" Sensing that nothing was coming from this and that there was a total lack of care not only for our concern for safety but also for the conduct of the employee, I told her yes, have a good day and then I hurried off of the phone. Martha S and the Man that worked the window on this day were both trash. Trash because of how they performed, trash because our safety didn’t matter. Don’t stop at this location. Take my word forward and keep going. Make your way to the East Washington & Rual strip and you’ll get better service and it’s a little safer...

Ok. The staff are friendly but am I wrong to think it takes more than friendly to operate a business. The inside needs updated, it looks forgotten in the 80's. My food was alright, I mean it was edible and looked right but my tacos were missing toppings and 1 only had meat only one was literally a shell with lettuce inside. Only lettuce. The sandwich my kids had was the same. One sandwich literally had a cut in half hamburger patty. They were super slammed I seen 3 workers all looked to be 16-17 yrs old, that's it period in the almost 47 minutes I was there from walking in, ordering, collecting the food, walking out was 47 minutes. I did not go back to complain because as I said, I feel they tried. The point of this post is, I'm hoping management read this and get these kids some helpers. Especially during peak times or when they have a rush. There would be plenty to do and being this location Seems busy alot of time, money shouldn't be a reason to not hire adults. Enough

I was 100% polite to these employees, food was intentionally smashed and burgers were ripped into 3 cold pieces, no condiments on any of my sandwiches, person at drive thru spoke so poorly and 'slang' I gave up trying to correct my order and politely said fine, got home opened it you could actually see the footprint and dirt imprint on my cheeseburger( which had no cheese at all) this was 100% intentional, not even questionable, I've never seen food so bad I had to photograph it to send to corporate. Also sent to the Marion Co health dept. Well anyhow I hope they enjoy cleaning all that food and drinks off their car after their shift because that's where I returned it. So if morning shift has to clean up trash in the lot tomorrow you know they were also too lazy to pick it up so be sure and let morning shift know who to thank!!!! Don't intentionally ruin people's orders for no reason whatsoever. There weren't even any customers when I came, pretty pathetic. I'll be in to see the real manager about these 2 'employees' and I'm sure your DM will be as well since I called them.
