After eating at Harry and Izzy's downtown location, we were excited to grab lunch at their airport location before our flight home. For a general airport restaurant, this was a decent stop, but their airport location simply doesn't meet the standard set by other stores.
Service was decent, friendly, but they didn't pay nearly the attention to food allergies as their other locations and their options are much more limited. One item was delivered with our allergen on the side, and another was delivered with items we asked to be excluded. Both could be worked around, but still disappointing after visiting downtown.
The location is exactly what you'd expect for an airport restaurant, open and easy to access, dark wood bar, easy seating with luggage. No complaints here.
Food was the bug letdown. It simply isn't anywhere near the standard of their main locations; again, decent for a generic restaurant in an airport, but if you're expecting something like other locations you'll be let down. Instead of calling it Harry and Izzy's, I might call it "Harry and Izzy's Express" or similar - differentiate it to change expectations.
Overall, if you set your expectations on the location (at the airport) instead of the brand, you'll probably be happier. If you're expecting a Harry and Izzy's experience, you're likely to be left...
Read moreGreat for a Pre-Flight Bite
I was at the airport about to catch my flight back home. Luckily enough I had a delay and had time to grab a bite before my flight. I looked around for a few places to eat and settled on Harry and Izzy's mostly due to its reputation. Since I had a little more time I settled on something that I knew would come out fast.
My Meal on this visit,
Beer Lobster Bisque The Wedge
The ber was a little flat (see pic ) but cold, and the soup came out pretty fast. I enjoyed the Bisque and although through my travels I have had better, this one was okay, and great if you're in a hurry to catch a flight. The Wedge was as you can imagine, a wedge of lettuce, sprinkled with bacon, with chopped tomatoes and served with their creamy gorgonzola dressing. I admit there was a bit too much dressing for my taste so I f I ever have this again I will ask for 'light on the dressing'.
The positive take on Harry and Izzy's airport location is...If you're at the airport and getting close to boarding, order the easy-to-make things on the menu and you'll be okay. if you have time then order something more elaborate. The food was good even though it was busy, and I had enough time to get to my gate to catch my...
Read moreThis Tweet is for airport location, when I arrived at work I went here to get my dinner prior to my shift starting, there was a line to get a table I waited ten minutes before I even got the attention of one of the servers. I was told that they were short staffed I asked if I could place a to go order and one server said she didn't know how to do that, so I wouldn't be late to work I left and clocked in and went back up to the restaurant this time no line but a sign says closed, Again I had to wait 5 to ten minutes to be even acknowledged The server said they were closed I stated I wanted to place a to go order earlier and a sever said I don't know how to do that and we are short staffed and we don't have a dish washer, what did I expect her to do! No concern about myself not having any food to eat on my 12 hour Night shift, I think I would have called the Manager sooner, I am helping out here in IND and if this is the way guests get treated I will go else where, and I'll let my company know. I will not spend another dime or recommend Harry's and...
