Mama Ines Mexican Bakery #2 — Restaurant in Indianapolis

I hated their service. Worst of the worsts I have had so far! We liked their tres leches cakes in the bakery. For our toddler’s birthday, we wanted to have a chocolate tres leches cake. This was going to be first time he’ll taste a store brought cake with sugar etc. So it was really special for us. We showed them a photo of a “little blue truck” themed cake where the design of the truck was done with frosting. They agreed to do it and charged us almost double the real price because they claimed they need to order/buy the letters written around the cake! Well, we wanted a perfect cake, so we agreed upon the price. When we picked up the cake, we found out they just printed the picture of a truck and happy birthday on it! No writings around the cake for which they doubled the price! After asking for that they just picked up a red colored icing and wrote it! How come they charged this much for writing with a freaking icing whose color doesn’t even go with the theme!! It’s not the end! We we cut the cake, more surprise was waiting for us! It wasn’t even a chocolate cake, it was vanilla! They ruined the special cake we planned for our son. And I don’t know if they actually doesn’t understand English or just pretend not to understand so rip you...

Their pastries are delicious! Always made fresh daily. Huge variety of pastries and cookies!

These took a hit during transportation home. But it doesn't change the flavor. The Bavarian creme pastry has smooth and creamy flavor while not being overly sweet. These donuts are huge compared to name brand donut places. The churros are filled with a raspberry jam (or what I believe is jam). Slightly tart but that what I want in a raspberry jam. The Danish has a glaze that gives the pastry a sweetness to satisfy any sweet tooth. And the cannoli has a sweet cream filling with each end being dipped chopped pecans topped with chocolate sauce. The cannoli itself is crisp. Great contrast of texture. Prices are very reasonable. They also sell cakes, which I look forward to...

The food is absolutely amazing. It is a bakery so they sell a majority of baked goods such as sweets and cakes and donuts Etc. However, they also sell tamales that are freshly made in the store as you order them.

Even though we didn't speak Spanish they had someone at the store that was bilingual and was able to translate for us. Despite this, they were not rude or irritated that we couldn't speak Spanish. They were still very welcoming and very friendly with us and they worked with us in communicating. The tamales are so good that you could eat four of them or more in one sitting.
