So, I decided to give you all another try, after I had to throw away my first visit’s food. Then I spent about $60 because I wanted to try a few dishes and support my Afro brothers and sisters. It’s been months since my first trip and I’m am still amazed how you all have a 4 star rating. I spent $42 in high hopes that this time would be better. I’ve been feeling ill ever since I ate some of the food on Sunday 4/21/24. I had egusi soup w/ Shaki, damn near thought I was eating pork. The whole dish was too salty and bland. My Jollof and turkey was bland, dry, and the meat so tough I gave up because I was fighting to eat it. IDK what the chef(s) have going on but your prices are too damn high to be giving out trash. NO LOVE in this food. I’m really disappointed. Again, I wasted my hard earned money. I’m too, thinking of sending the board of health there. My food couldn’t have been fresh, why do I feel so bad after eating it? Never again will I patronize this establishment.
Responding- I mentioned Board of Health because I know what I am talking about. I shouldn’t be feeling ill after eating here. Never said pork was illegal. Again, not my first time giving you a try. If your food was prepared properly and with consistency…ummm your customers would say so and feel the love during and after consuming it. Maybe there shouldn’t be children in the kitchen to distract operations. You should start measuring your ingredients as well. Way too much salt or add a label for dishes that have the potential to be on the salty...
Read moreAmazing Nijia (Nigerian) food place here in Indianapolis. I'm visiting Indy and was on the hunt for Nigerian food (people don't know that their are many different kinds of African food (their are 54 different countries on the African continent people!!!). Anyway. I wanted Jollof and Chicken. I searched and read reviews and saw the owner at war with some people ignorant of the cuisine. ROFL. I laughed and popped the address in and drove straight to the restaurant. When I pulled up and saw the parking lot full...that's how you know the food is legit ooo! Little bit dark inside and seats way too high and uncomfortable as hell but I'm not here for the decor, I'm here for the food!!! (Tip for owner...get some real chairs!!! Your seating is horrible!).
The Asun Grilled Goat dish was 🔥🔥🔥! The flavors were banging! I started ripping these apart. You see...you don't eat with no fork, you use your HANDS 🖐️👐. That's how you get that ful flavor! The Chicken and Rice came out. Listen...anyone who knows..knows. it's war when it comes to Jollof! This one wasn't overly spiced out and it was tasty with the right amount of red sauce grease on your fingers!!! Oh, I put the phone down and started ravaging the food then.
This place is official. The food is on point and delicious 🤤. Stop eating fast food and come eat this! It's fat boy...
Read moreI've been to this place twice in the couple past years. Once because my friend ordered food and I picked it up for them. I looked at the receipt when I paid and they charge a 9% Indiana tax on top of the 7%??? State sales tax is 7% with an additional 2% on food and beverage so I don't get that. If you're going to charge the food and beverage tax on top of the sales tax then there shouldn't be 2 different sales tax. It should only be 9%. Weird but whatever.
Last summer was the second time I went. I ordered pick up on a Friday night. We got to the place and the door was locked. We had to knock multiple times and call multiples times before someone opened up for us. And when we walked in we saw two guys standing on tables playing the Xbox or PS on the tv. Standing on the tables people eat on to play video games is diabolical. The jollof/chicken I ordered was the worst jollof and chicken I've ever eaten.
This place is a literal joke idk how they have 4 stars when it's so unprofessional and the food is the worst. Small portions with high prices. Take your money elsewhere for better Nigerian food.
Wrote this review because they cheated my friend with the portion and false advertisement of what the food would...
