Family Dollar — Local services in Indianapolis

I just had quite the unprofessional (very "odd") encounter with an employee at the register. I've now called the store several times (on camera, using my secondary phone to provide context regarding time-frames, correct phone number, & personal explanation) & cannot seem to get through to the members on duty. (Quite convenient, to slander a gentleman/customer & NOT answer the phone immediately after.) I approached the register & said good afternoon, & was replied to with; "I thought you werent coming back?" I followed with; "Excuse me?" Where the cashier followed up with; "You're not the guy that got into it with my "black" employee & claimed you're not coming back?" I explained; "I'm not sure I'm following, but the only quote "black" employee I've seen here is the gentleman that commended my hat & dog tags, DO ask that gentleman about the man with the cool hat & dog tags. In fact, does the guy you speak of have these distinguishable dog tags?" She replied with "I don't know, I ONLY caught a glimpse of the side of his face, but he could have been your twin!" I said, "That's odd, you have a great day, I'll try to get in touch with a manager about all this." Where she walked away without responding. I proceeded to reach out to the facility in hopes to get a regional manger, branch manager, or some sort of supervisor to help me understand the animosity I just encountered. To no avail, however, as the store put me on hold twice until the phone hung up & even rejected the call after the 3rd ring once. (I've got the phone calls on camera as it seemed a bit "fishy" from jump & I actually anticipated being hung up on by the lack of professionalism on duty at the time of the encounter. Undoubtedly to avoid being reprimanded ... The employee had quite the self-entitled "lack of professional courtesy" altogether.)

TLDR; Guys try to AVOID just about ANY expectation of professional courtesy when stopping at this location. They feel as if they can make absurd claims about customers without ANY backing, OR...

Very discussed with this Family Dollar. For being a larger store, more inventory and some new sales associates, place was very unshelved. Merchandise boats in every department, merchandise that needed to be placed out was in boxes all over store, products on floor everywhere too. something caught my eye and I twisted around to look at something, took a step forward and tripped over a merchsndise boat. Scraped my ankle. When I got to register to pay, I told cashier's what happened. Told them this store was way worse at it's new location, than it ever was just a few blocks down on West Michigan and Holmes Ave. Their comment was ' weve told her she is not to leave the merchandise boats and unpacked merchandise on the floor.' I would like to know who the her was these two sales associates/cashier's were talking about, I'd like to know who the store manager is, who the area manager is and who is the area managers boss. Very disappointed in the store, lazy employees and employees who don't help each other and stay on their cell phones texting, and those who wear ear buds while working so they are not paying attention to...

This is a terrible TERRIBLE PLACE! I would give it no stars but that was not an option! The employees will screw you over, steal from you, and treat you horribly!! And the manager is even worse, because she refuses to even talk to you if you go to her with an issue in the store SHE IS SUPPOSE TO BE MANAGING!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!! IT'S IN A VERY BAD NEIGHBORHOOD, YET THE PEOPLE WORKING INSIDE THE STORE ARE JUST AS BAD AS THOSE ON THE STREETS AROUND THE STORE!!

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOURSELF! THERE ARE DOLLAR STORES ALL AROUND INDY, BUT THIS ONE SHOULD NOT EVEN EXIST ANYMORE!! SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE BY TRAVELING A FEW MORE BLOCKS UP THE ROAD TO A MUCH BETTER STORE! ANY PLACE IS BETTER THEN THIS PLACE! I AM JUST APPALLED BY WHAT I EXPERIENCED WHILE I WAS THERE TODAY!! I DO KNOW I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE. AND I WILL MAKE IT A PERSONAL GOAL OF MINE TO STOP EVERY SINGLE PERSON I CAN FROM GOING INTO THIS STORE AND EXPERIENCING WHAT I DID TODAY! NOBODY DESERVES THAT, AND THIS STORE NEEDS TO BE CLOSED DOWN...
