I'm done with this place.
It used to be amazing. I went there for twenty years, and it was great part of the East side. When I was in college, I'd do my homework there. The staff all knew me and so did the table of seniors that hung out and drank coffee all morning.
Years later I'd take the kids there on rainy days so they could play at the Play Place.
It was our home away from home.
Becca always had the place running on all cylinders.
Those days are long gone.
For the past couple of years, almost every time we'd go there, our order would be messed up, and if we went inside, often we'd stand at the counter for several minutes and just be completely ignored for several minutes.
Sometimes I'd pull out my phone and film them ignoring the customers. The customers would talk amongst themselves about how poorly the place was ran. People would get frustrated and leave.
This was new norm.
The most recent time I went inside (due to the long line in the drive thru and the fact that I needed to use the restroom), Carmen, the angry little manager that has absolutely destroyed this place, looked over at me, standing at the cash register and then continued doing what she was doing, which I would have patience for, but as I watched her for several minutes, it was clear to me that she wasn't doing anything that was urgent, and that, ONCE AGAIN(!!) me and the other customers were just being ignored.
An "I'll be right with you, sir." would be nice, but there is just zero effort by this atrocious manager or from several members of her staff.
On a recent visit, my wife and I ordered two milk shakes and were given what was basically milky syrup.
When I turned the shake to the side to show that there was absolutely no thickness, the girl said
"That's just how it come."
I said "This isn't a milkshake. I don't want this."
She replied "There's nothing we can do."
I have a lot of stories about this place, from the last few years, as it went from being a pillar of our community, to the absolute embarrassment it is now, but if you've been there recently, I'm sure you already know.
I know I'm not alone.
Recently I saw a news story of a woman who stood at the counter being ignored so long that she got angry and said something about it and one of the managers slapped the customer in the face.
Granted this customer was being extremely stupid and immature, but you don't slap a customer in the face. I mean, c'mon.
If you doubt this simply go to YouTube and search "Customer loses it at Indianapolis mcdonald's" into the search.
We still eat at McDonald's, almost daily.
We love McDonald's!!
But not this one.
This one is an absolute embarrassment.
Never again.
It's worth driving a few extra miles to avoid this travesty.
I wish I could go lower...
Read moreSo I make it home after ordering and one of my boxes of chicken nuggets has orange hair in it. I'm black and live in a black household. No one here has access to orange tinted hair. They also forgot my child's apple slices I ordered. If I lived within ten minutes of the location I'd just go back but I don't so now my child has an issue beyond me not fulfilling her wish to eat apple slices. Thank God I didn't order two as I almost did. Also to further the damage I didn't receive my coffee I ordered it was a different variant of coffee. I have pictures and location information to back all of this. I can provide further proof if needed. I'm leaving this review to share my poor experience at this location today as it is not my frequented location I will NOT be returning to this location despite convience factor or any other promotional reason. This is highly an issue if I was to contact the FDA and report my experience. They also gave me an excessive amount of barbecue sauce when I only ordered 3 with my meal. Not an issue but, seriously? I'm just highly unsatisfied as this was a $19.04 order and my child has to wait even longer now as I prepare a meal instead because we will not be consuming contaminated food products. The limitation on the language barrier experienced at this location was also very unsettling. The minimal interaction we had shouldn't have been so stressful on either party. I understand being busy but this is exactly why business models and expectations should be enforced by management to ensure the cleanliness and proper execution of orders per order to be properly filled. If a refund isn't an available option for the poor experience I've witnessed today I will pursue higher means of compensation as my resources have been wasted while supporting a non well maintained, unsanitary, demeaning pyramid scheme of a restaurant, and unstandardized location. This is a sad thing to leave a review with such detail but I co-founded a business and even if it was larger scale I'd still be holding a higher standard to my products as that's what keeps a business afloat. Not milling out as much as possible to gain profit. America has reached a sad level of influence if this is the standard we have become accepting of....
Read moreFood has been prepared incorrectly multiple times and we don't even have complex changes, ketchup & pickle only or no lettuce/tomato.
Tldr: I don't mind mistakes. I get that it's fast food and you're busy. I've been there. But when you mess up twice, essentially deny messing up at all, and even the "corrected" food is cold and no to order, that's a little too much for me.
The other day they gave us entirely the wrong order, which I understand happens, but they were also incredibly rude about it when I called the manager. I called to ask for a refund or store credit because my husband was already on his way out of town with the his half of the food and I didn't have a way to get to the store to exchange. The manager wouldn't budge and said we would need to come back to verify that we received the wrong order, even after explaining that my husband was in his way out of town. The manager assured us that there was no one in the drive thru and that there would be no problems if my husband came back. He turned around, since his food was incorrectly prepared as well. They requested the receipt to check against the food items, kept the receipt even when he asked for it back, and told him to pull forward. They gave him the food and he came home to give me my "corrected" portion. It was still incorrect. Instead of two cheeseburgers with only ketchup and pickle, it was ketchup and mustard (I hate mustard). They also left the lettuce on the QP w/ cheese (partner hate hot lettuce). When I called again to ask for my money back, no more redos, or at the very least store credit, the manager told me that the order was corrected and she would only help if I had the receipt, despite me having talked to her about this same issue like 5 minutes earlier. When I explained that the receipt had been taken by staff and never returned to us, she said that couldn't have happened and that there was nothing she could do without a receipt. I asked her to check with the worker at the first window who took the receipt and both denied ever taking and keeping the receipt for the initial correction. I eventually just hung up in frustration, because we weren't getting anywhere and I didn't know what to do without the receipt they had...
