I was very excited to try this restaurant, even though reviews have been mixed. My husband and I, along with two other couples, had a reservation on a Saturday at 5:00 pm. It was empty with exception of maybe two tables. It was bright (almost too bright as sun was in our eyes) and appeared clean, but nothing fancy or remarkable. They do not serve liquor. Only beer and pretty good list of wine. One beer that was ordered came out not cold. We did ask for three separate checks up front. The server, Sylvia, seemed pretty attentive at first, but that did not last long. We had to ask for everything at least twice. After a little too long of a wait, one entree was brought out. Korean BBQ Beef Skewers. After another seemingly long wait, one persons Rainbow Roll came out. Upon looking around the restaurant, most tables were full AND had already gotten all of their food. We asked the server that brought the Rainbow Roll if it was going to take as long for the remaining food to come out. He gave some explanation about having a kitchen and the Sushi Bar? Two bowls finally came out, but my husband and I were still waiting for our sushi order. By this time, our friend who was served first was finished with his meal. We flagged our server numerous times for water, extra sauce, etc. and to question where the rest of the food was. She did not offer any explanation. Finally, one Philly Roll came, but we asked for tuna instead of salmon. It was salmon. She took it back and return a bit later and put it in the middle of the table like she was doing us a favor. Finally, the three items we ordered came out slowly, one by one. Everyone was about finished at this point. One of our rolls had the purple rice. It wasn’t too bad on the Salmon Skin Roll, one person ordered another roll after we received our order and it came with the purple rice (which does clearly state on the menu). It did not go with the Spicy Tuna Roll. I would not recommend the purple rice. The sushi and kabobs were good. The bowls were exorbitantly high for what you got. Very disappointing experience overall. I hesitantly gave three stars for the sushi and the cleanliness of...
Read moreI would like to share my experience at the newly opened Coral Sushi, a highly anticipated addition to the dining scene in La Quinta/INDIO. Located on 50th and Jefferson, right next to the Ralph's store, this restaurant captivated us from the moment we stepped inside. Coral Sushi boasts an exquisite and fresh ambiance, both inside and out. The interior design is stunning, offering a variety of seating options, including a welcoming sushi bar, cozy booths, and spacious tables. While we didn't get to enjoy it during our visit, they also have an inviting outdoor dining area. From the instant we entered, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, making us feel right at home. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and providing impeccable service throughout our meal. The menu at Coral Sushi is truly impressive, featuring a delightful array of options. From traditional hibachi and sashimi to homemade noodles and an extensive selection of rolls, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The best part? The prices are remarkably affordable…Even for those in our party who weren't sushi enthusiasts, they had enticing beef and chicken dishes available. The beverage menu was equally impressive, offering reasonably priced single glasses of wine and beer, as well as excellent bottle options. Their wine pours were also quite generous, which was a pleasant surprise. As we kicked off our dining experience, we decided to start with the calamari as an appetizer. To say it was the best we've ever had in the entire desert would be an understatement. The flavor and quality exceeded all expectations, leaving us thoroughly impressed. It's evident that the ownership of Coral Sushi truly values the satisfaction of their patrons. The exceptional service, genuine hospitality, and reasonable prices all contribute to a memorable dining experience. Without a doubt, we will be returning to Coral Sushi in the...
Read moreI coincidentally stumbled on this little restaurant when I visited the horse show in Thermal. After a full day out and about I felt like sushi and some good ol' Googling brought us there a little over 6 weeks ago. I am a pretty good chef myself and the one thing I can't prepare is sushi. This place is outstanding in regards of the menu, the food in general and obviously the service. We walked in with 8 people and where entertainted by professionals from the second we walked in. Daniella who served us was top notch! And on point. We where all happy and satisfied and felt appreciated.
I live in Las Vegas and two weeks ago I was back in town and had an evening meeting with a client. 'You like sushi?'. Let 's go, I know of a nice place. Again, I walked in and who stood there? Greeting me, and my guest? Daniella! Like what? She knew me? How cool was that.
We talked about her family, her travel experiences and she let us take our time to choose, order and experience another fantastic meal. My guest was delighted and so was I! This, I am telling you is my favorite place when I am in Thermal or Palm Springs for Sushi and the great starters they have. And Danielle, she is 'Dani' now; a friend!
Seriously! I will go back, and go back again and again.
This is an example of how a guest should be treated when you go dining out. I don't really write reviews, but in this case, they deserve the reality and I am happy to say; go check it out and tell Dani the Belgian in Vegas said hi. Watch and see, I am almost sure she will...
