Used to be great, not any more!
I have always ordered the praline cheesecake and it was so delicious, that sometimes I'd wished I ordered two. Not any more!
About 5 months ago I ordered the praline cheesecake and the pecans were burned. I didn't call to complain and thought it was a once-in-a-lifetime mistake.
But decided I would not buy from them for a while.
Fast forward to yesterday (June 13, 2023), I bought THREE (3) slices of the same cheesecake. I ate half of mine and my daughter and granddaughter split one, the third one was untouched. see photos
They BOTH had a burned taste to them. The pecans had been over-roasted.
I called Harriet's today and asked for a manager. I was told by ROBIN, that the manager was unavailable. π
I explained what my issue was and asked for a refund, WHICH SHE AGREED TO.
This was around 11:07 a.m. I called back around 12:57 p.m. (because I didn't want to drive 20 miles back down there) and asked her to just refund half the cost. That's when she told me she would not give me a refund and I could only exchange a slice for a slice.π
Now, she had my number, why didn't she call me and say that? If I had driven all the way down there, for her to turn around and renege on the refund, I would've been extremely upset.
I'm sure we're not the only ones that tasted those burned pecans on those cakes, but she told me I was the ONLY one to complain.
Anyway, I will not be returning nor recommending this place to anyone.
The quality of their cheesecakes have plummeted and the prices have gone up!
Their horrible with customer service and the drive is too far for this type...

This is deff not your Cheesecake Factory style cheesecake. Nor is it your New York style cheesecake.
I find that this stands as its own.
Super rich, very creamy full fat, dense and very sweet cheesecake that will lay you out flat after half a slice. LOL You will 100% need something to drink with this to wash it down. I like milk with it.
I've had the most famous praline and a few others. I've found that they are all great depending on the taste your craving. But I migrate back to basics.
Also another note. After having a slice of this, I don't crave it for a while. It's very filling and decadent that I love but don't crave. Weird huh? Like SUSHI, I can eat it today and still want it in a few days. Same goes for Krispy Keene doughnuts, I can eat one or two today and a week or two later I'll want to one again. But this cheesecake. I'll crave it about a month or two later. :D
I had a good customer service experiance here but really want to see the cakes in a glass case one day when I walk in. I feel this would make anyone feel inticed to try/buy more. You eat with your eyes before you taste things. So hopefully one day they upgrade the front with a nice refrigerated glass case for our viewing pleasure.
Ps: Cash Only
That's it,
Enjoy and...
Β Β Β Read moreI don't know why some people mentioned the Cheesecake Factory on their reviews. The Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory is horrible. Horrible flavor, texture and quality. Harriets is on another level. Having a cheesecake at Harriets and having one at the Cheesecake Factory is like having a prime steak and comparing it to a Big Mac. So why even mention it? I went to Harriets today for the first time. The cheesecake was delicious. The cranberry cheesecake was finger licking good. Exquisite all the way around. It was so good that I didn't want to feel my slice of cheesecake dissolving away in my mouth, but, unfortunately, I couldn't avoid eating all of it. I can easily have a cheesecake slice every day from this place. I am very glad that I found Harriets. I will become one of their regular customers from now on. It is pricey, but you won't regret a single penny spent on such a delicious slice of heaven. Best Cheesecake in L.A....
