Rose Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in International Falls

This may be the only Chinese restaurant in International Falls. The standards by which you judge this restaurant must take that into account. This is your typical Americanized Chinese food. The service was good but the food is average, at best. The Mongolian Beef was a bit tough and I expected more scallions. The taste was on the bland side, but if you don't like salty food (like I), then this is good. The Chicken Kow didn't have enough mushrooms and was also bland. Again, depending on if you like it. Got Egg Rolls, Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken, & White Rice to go. The Egg Rolls weren’t great, but at least they were edible. The Orange Chicken had no orange flavor whatsoever, the Sesame Chicken tasted kind of like meatballs & seemed reheated. The rice was partially cold, but it was pretty much all I could eat. And $33 for this meal seems pretty ridiculous to me… plus when ordering I said I wasn’t from the area & it would’ve been nice to have been offered...

The food was fast but the prices were were a little high for the portion size ( just a small lunch menu). The egg rolls seemed to be homeade and were very good with the plum sauce that was served with it. Ambience was an open cafe type of seating (tables and chairs). Waitress was friendly and checked in on us regularly. I Will go back to check out there...
