Smokey feels like home. The center of most of towns activities and parades, festivals, and the beloved beer gardens. The music Shell is not far from there where they have had concerts also movie nights lots of family fun activities. Many family's also hold parties there. Free as long as area is cleaned up after and taken care of. They use to dress smokey but city council thought it was silly, maybe we need someone younger with an imagination in our city council. Even my grandbabies make me feel younger it will be a very missed tradition. However the christmas lights on the trees are gorgeous deep beautiful colors. Thumbs up on the...

OK, IF you are in the area and you have kids, or maybe you are a kid at heart, then by all means, take time to see Smokey Bear. This 23-foot high statue was erected in 1953. He still looks pretty good despite his age. The park adjacent to Smokey is a great place to relax and have a picnic lunch. There are lots of picnic tables and plenty of room for the kids to run off some energy. There is also a large pavillon area that can accommodate a small gathering if one is...

Smokey Bear park is a nice place to visit during the summer there is different things happening there 4th of July concession stands, the Bass tournament, labor day corn, hot dogs, brats, chips and ice-cream, bouncie house, barrel train rides and music.
