Sharky's — Restaurant in Iola

On July 25th we went to try out this restaurant for the first time. My husband, my self and our 2 toddlers entered the building and stood at the front door waiting to be seated. We were not sure if we seated ourselves or not. A lady came up to us a few minutes later and told us to sit where ever we liked but all the booths were full so we chose the closest table of 4. We all got seated and she brought us a high chair for our youngest. My husband then took our other toddler to the restroom and I stayed at the table so that when the waitress or waiter came I could order our drinks. No one came while they were in the restroom, but a gentleman kept walking by our table with menus and drinks for other tables and never once acknowledged me. About 5 min later a group of 6 or more came through the door and seated themselves right behind us by the door. The same gentleman immediately walked past our table again with menus for them and asked them what they would like to drink. He then turned around and started walking past our table and my husband said sir can we get some menus and he just kept walking and still never acknowledged us. So at this point we were upset and got up and left. Better customer service for this restaurant is my recommendation, so you don’t lose more customers who are trying out your restaurant for the first time. Great customer service and Great First impressions should be a big deal and the most important for a business. I’m not sure if we will give it another try or not. We felt pretty upset by the way we were ignored...

I ordered the ribeye (medium rare) with sweet potato fries and a Cesar salad. The steak was over cooked (well done) and had to send it back. I cut into the second steak and it appeared to be cooked right, however, after letting it rest for a bit, it had continued to cook further and ended up being closer to medium well. The seasoning was great! There was no need for steak sauce at all! The sweet potato fries were a bit different than I've had previously, however, they were delicious!

The atmosphere was to be expected with the name "Sharky's".

Parking could potentially be an issue. There's a large parking lot across the street, however, with another restaurant on that side of the street, it could potentially become a problem. Also, not very wheelchair friendly as there is a small 1"-2" step...

What a delight to have found this place!!! Visiting the area for an extended time. Ran across this place by accident and it is fabulous!! The food was awesome!! Had cheese burger and fries and shared an order of deep fried mushrooms. One of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had!! Served hot, fresh and perfectly cooked. Not dry at all!! And the fries weren't too bad either. It also happened to be there special that day too so awesomeness!!! And our waitress was so friendly but yet didn't drive us crazy constantly coming over. She knows her stuff. I'm just thrilled with Sharkys and plan to return frequently while I'm here. About the same price as a meal at McDonald's for the cheeseburger and fries but SOOOOO...
