Celebrate National Guacamole Day with some of the freshest guac in town, made right at your table at Avion Azul! 🥑 Don’t miss out on this delicious experience while they’re still at their current location in the Mason City Airport. September 25 will be their last day there before relocating. We’ll keep you posted on their new spot - stay tuned! #masoncityiowa #iowa #travel #midwest #guacamole

All small airports like this probably has a empty lease just waiting for somebody to move in. Well AA did and I think they did a pretty good job. It’s not for the dozen or so travelers that fly in and out each day but for the locals to enjoy good food and maybe some airport action to boot. First the house margaritas were decent but just over yonder what AA calls a jumbo is just a regular and regular size here is a two sip kiddie cup over there. Margaritas are a racket just like everything else in America. My ‘jumbo’ = maybe an oz of rail tequila and 10 oz of pre-maid machine dispensed lime liquid was 12$….yikes. It tasted good but I never feel a drink should cost about the same as a meal. Chips and salsa were good enough but I often wonder why restaurants do give them more love as they kinda ate the opening act that sets the tone. Both entrees were good which in my case eased the true feelings of them being two bite tacos as they where so small. I guess I was pleasantly surprised by the location, ambience and service but the price per portion was a little off base in my opinion. Give ‘em a try and see for yourself they do a good and just maybe you’ll see a plan fly or ufo pass by. Enjoy!

5 stars for their selection of Tequilas, I noticed several expensive top shelf bottles that we enjoy in our personal collection so this is great to see. Service was very friendly and it was very clean and the location is very unique. Flavor-wise on the meals, I’ll give it an OK. The table salsa is ok, guacamole needed salt and lime, queso was served a little cooler than what I prefer, the enchiladas verde was served as if the kitchen had run out of verde and the carnitas didn’t have enough flavor for my liking but I like the more fattier pieces. This was corrected with dipping my tacos in the side of verde that came with my meal though. Our margaritas were worth the price so I am looking forward in returning to try another and another. 05/2024: We went for the Sunday Brunch and all 6 of us stuffed our faces. The flavors were incredible enough for me to state that my meal felt like it was made in Mexico. Service- meh.

Wow this place was amazing! I’m very impressed on their menu options, their food and beverage quality was excellent. I’m new to this town and my experience here was great! This place is actually kid-friendly with menu options for them too.

The drinks were great very refreshing, not too strong. I’ve been craving margaritas so I ordered the Margarita Flight, you get to pick 4 flavors. I ordered the Avión-Fajitas, it was delicious and very filling (by the time we paid, my fiancé might as well have rolled me back to the car lol!). For dessert we ordered churros to-go and they were made fresh to order.

This restaurant is located in the airport and you can enjoy your meal while you watch aircraft’s land or taking off. They have a cute outdoor patio where you can dine outside as well.

Overall, very satisfied with my experience here. I’m so happy there is an excellent Mexican cuisine spot right...
