Hardee’s — Restaurant in Iowa

So at about 4:30 pm on Thursday july 27 we stopped at Hardee's (our road trip go to.) I asked about the western bacon when the young man in the drive thru referred to me as a man/ sir. When I said I was a ma'am not a sir he and his female coworker with the top bun thought it was oh so funny and we could SEE THEM LAUGHING AS THEY LOOKED DEAD AT US. OK I'm not ordering anything. You see due to a dr slip of a scalpel I was left with the left side of my vocal cords permanently severed, then the radiation and the chemo destroyed even more throughout my body. So it takes alot for me to have small adventures with my teenage daughter. So when I am made fun of for something out of my control it's very hard to tolerate. Perhaps this Hardee's should explain why empathy, kindness, common courtesy and respect for customers is vital as you never know what your customers are going through. We went across the street to Burger King and we were given AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH ZERO...

We stopped to get 4 items for breakfast at 8:20 am but drove away with 2, and the gravy biscuit was inedible. The gravy tasted like it had never been cooked and had an overwhelming amount of black pepper. The sprite had no flavor. Not only were they out of sweet tea, but the cashier at the drive thru informed us she was unable to make it because customers kept coming through the drive thru. She insinuated that she needed no customers to do the other parts of her job? She returned to the window 3 times, complaining each time. She even complained about my debit card, calling it old and informing me that I should make the bank replace it because it is not tap enabled.

I gave away $9 because we had nothing to show for it!

We went to McDonald's to start over and it was such a an improvement! I spent $12 for 2 full breakfasts and it all tasted great.

Save the time and stress and stay away...

The last time and only time that I had Hardee’s was somewhere in April 1998 in Ames, IA. I was burning my night oil on a course (Dr. Sheble’s Optimization) project with my friend/classmate 王卫国. The Hardee’s burger was like the White Knight that boosted our energy level at 2am to finish the project😄 Ever since I didn’t have another Hardee’s because I moved to Houston where Hardee’s has not operated. This time I’m helping my daughter move in UNC at Chapel Hill where I run into the establishing state of Hardee’s. How can I miss it?! The store is clean. I went with the classic burger that I had almost 30 years ago. Still tasty even without a pressing project under way - the patties are grilled smokey; the crinkle cut fry doesn’t need the ketchup to be good. It just arouses a lot of my memories in that late spring on...
