I took my girlfriend (who has worked in the restaurant industry over 30 years) to the Choate Bridge Pub in Ipswich MA on 08/10/19, it was her first time and what a disappointment. We ordered medium/rare prime rib but were served a piece of dry well done meat and a baked potato that was greenish/black in color. After sending the first meal back we were served a 2nd piece that was also well done but they covered it in Au Jus and tried to pass it off as rare. Then the brunette bartender (we never got her name) proceeded to argue with my girlfriend saying that the chef WILL NOT take 2 pieces of prime rib off the bill and that we are welcome to take it home with us as if it will magically un-cook itself overnight? I have eaten here many times and typically the food and service is great unfortunately last night was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The server/bartender was in a position that could have turned a negative experience into a positive but she chose instead to cop an attitude and make things even worse to where other patrons were commenting on her poor behavior. With over 30years in management if I ever saw an employee act like this they would have been terminated on the spot. I cannot tell them how to run their business but I do hope they will address this and know that I will not be back nor will I continue to recommend this place as I have over the years with that being my last impression.
