Let me preface this by saying, I don't like leaving negative reviews. I also want to say that I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years. So I have been around the block hundreds of times. I also Doordash on my time off.
With that being said, I picked up a Doordash order from this establishment. It took me 12 minutes just to drive there, and the order was ordered 15 minutes prior. So we're already sitting at 27 minutes from time of the order. The order should be ready, right? Nope!
When I arrived, the woman who owns the store (and her whole crew) were cleaning the restaurant (grills, floors, counters, etc.). I ask the cashier, Benjamin (Her son. I know his name because she kept screaming at him) if the order is ready. He says that "They are finishing it up right now". He then disappeared into the restroom for 10 minutes. During this whole time, the woman who owns the store (and her crew) continue to clean the restaurant. So I wait.
10 minutes later, he comes out of the restroom and I ask him why are they not preparing this order, and his reply was: "Oh, they're cleaning dishes. They want to catch-up on dishes first.".... EXCUSE ME, WHAT?!
So now we're sitting at 36 minutes AFTER THIS FOOD WAS ORDERED AND THEY ARE STILL CLEANING! THEY CONTINUE TO CLEAN FOR 5 MORE MINUTES BEFORE EVEN STARTING THE ORDER.
At this point I'm highly aggravated, and the woman who owns the store couldn't care less. After she finishes cleaning, she takes off her dirty gloves that she was cleaning with, and sets them right next to where she's preparing the food. She didn't even wash her hands! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING, AND A HUGE DHEC VIOLATION!
At this point, there is a crowd of nine other people in this small restaurant who are very unhappy - and again, she couldn't be bothered.
10 minutes later the food is ready. So it took them 42 minutes after receiving a Doordash order to even start preparing the food.
Out of the 20 years of working in this industry, I have NEVER seen something like this in my ENTIRE CAREER. I Thought I had seen everything, but I guess I was wrong. The total lack of respect for the people who patron this woman's buisness is absolutely inappropriate and shocking! As well as the cleanliness around their prep area.
Avoid this restaurant at all cost. I will NEVER set foot in there again - not even to...
Read morePreviously when I reviewed this place I gave them three stars because the food was somewhat edible. It's not edible anymore. I would recommend this anymore at all. The food I bought yesterday, $50 worth was terribly overcooked chicken wings that I ordered were mummified, the crispy tofu vegetable dish was bad and the tofu was like chewing rubber. Also ordered egg foo young which is my favorite and the 8:00 p.m., and the sauce was thin and watery and super sweet. So that one in the garbage too. In the past the hot and sour soup was okay not the best I've ever had by a long shot but edible and you know not awful. This time you had no flavor was very spicy kind of tasted like it was leftovers. I did call them and told them about it and they said oh sorry and then hung up. So now I'm going to say no more three star review only one star review and please I recommend no one going there to eat until they change their either chef or their way of doing business or maybe get a new menu. The better place would be the Chinese takeaway that's near the Walmart shopping center next to the dollar store. That's also not great but at least the food has flavor and the times I ordered from there nothing was overcooked. China King is not the king in this area anymore don't...
Read moreI’ve been twice, two months apart, and both times I didn’t feel well after. Three of us were eating, the broth on the soup was good, but then you get to the wontons. They were old and tasted freezer-burnt. The broccoli and beef was sweet and floury with a strong hint of old oil. There is bad food everywhere, like this place and then there are travesties. These are the things where the owner/cook/chef are trying to get away with a terrible practice or laziness. That is how I would describe the rice! Because intentionally making it bad is the only way their rice could be that terrible. It tasted like it had been in the fridge for a couple days and they couldn’t be bothered to get it hot before scooping it in my bag. Aside from the rice being aged, I cannot comprehend the practice of taking frozen peas and carrots, putting them in old rice, barely heating it, tossing scant smattering of onions in the pan with soy sauce and calling it $13 fried rice. That’s the kind of thing that makes you come onto a site like this and blast them for doing it. I sincerely hope you update your lazy methods, bad practices, or go out of business. ...
