Java Hut Express — Restaurant in Irvine

Ok so here is my genuine opinion about going a few times. First of all food is good, just as good as previous owner. Nothing in terms of size has changed in that regard. Service is also very friendly the new owners are very nice from the few interactions I have had with them. My biggest issues are the pricing shift, before a breakfast burrito (same size and quality mind you) was half the price. It included Eggs, potatoes, ham, cheese and salsa. The new ones contain only eggs, potatoes and salsa. adding a protein is 2$ more. The price changed from about 6 $ to 12 dollars (with protein its only 10 without) Which to me is a huge jump. The second item i had recently was their sandwich which also jumped up in price and if you "make it a combo" you get chips and a drink. I preferred when it was just I could add chips or a drink and didn't have to pay for both when I didn't want both. Overall, I feel this is a mid-place for the current prices in comparison to the previous owner. The reason its 3 stars compared to 4 was that there wasn't a change or wow factor in anything to jump it up. If I were to make suggestions it would be to make the cost worth it ( I can get a larger 12$ burrito else where) and then offer chips or drink separately.

So went here on a whim after purposely deciding to try somewhere other than Starbucks, what a treat!! I went mid-morning and there was no queue at all, Genteman happily took my order and set about making my coffee. As soon as he gave me the cup you could smell this wasn't any coffee. I’ve been a customer here at Java hut since the beginning right after the grand opening about four months ago. There is definitely a big difference now that it’s under new management. I come here for coffee ,snacks even breakfast. The owners Sam and Tam are the most graceful, gracious, friendly people ever.
