Mag’s Donuts & Bakery — Restaurant in Irvine

I don't want to bash any small business since they had hard time due to covid and donut shops I'm sure lost much revenues for closed work places. So hopefully this is a good feedback.

I tired this place about 2 years ago before covid. A dozen donuts seemed stale and hard. I got them around 9 am. Tried 2nd time last week at 8 am. The stand was full of donuts. Got a dozen. Same quality. Tougher and harder than I used to get from other donut shop near Irvine high school.

It's just my guess but either the recipes need to be looked at or they are making donuts a night before.

Reviews giving them 5 stars I don't get it. "Fresh" donuts? Try ones from shops that start 3, 4 am and make donuts that morning. Try Krispy kream, which I don't really like, but thats what the texture and quality should be for donuts if it is fresh made.

If this owner can make the improvement, may get 5 stars...

Visiting family for Easter, and came here looking for coffee cake and donuts to nosh on following Sunday Easter service. A bit hard to find as my GPS directed me past it’s location; plus no visible sign to see that it’s in the shopping center with Albertson’s. All that aside, I had purchased a dozen assorted donuts. They are delicious. The cost was a bit pricey having paid over $31 after tax. Only other wish that would be nice is a bigger case that clearly marked the selections; and to have a selection of coffee cakes. Not many bakeries do that. Convenient spot for after your workout at Quail Hill hiking trail and the staff is very helpful to let you know what popular items customers typically order. There is quite the wide variety of donuts, drinks and savory dishes on their menu. Decided to order the breakfast burrito and order donuts to bring to my family.
