A couple of days ago, I was googling Independent Coffee Roasters around my house, And I found Roosevelt Coffee. And I also found out that they sell Sightglass Coffee.
I already left a review when I visited the Los Angeles branch of Sightglass Coffee, Sightglass Coffee is one of the best independent coffee roasters in the Bay Area. Every time I go to San Francisco, I always stop by Sightglass Coffee for coffee.
Although from Irvine, where I live, there is a Sightglass Coffee shop in Los Angeles, which is much closer than San Francisco, honestly, it was always a shame that I couldn't go often because it was a long way to go to Los Angeles just for coffee.
Of course, I can buy Sightglass Coffee's Coffee Bean and brew coffee at home, but even for the same coffee, there is definitely a difference in taste between the coffee I brew myself at home and the coffee served by a barista at a coffee shop.
Roosevelt Coffee is located in a place where private institutes and commercial buildings are concentrated. The neat store interior and the friendly two baristas I met today made me want to come back.
I drank latte today, and Sightglass Coffee's latte, which I tasted after a long time, tasted really good, and the pig latte art carefully designed by the barista was so cute. Ham and Cheese Croissant, which was eaten with latte, also had a great combination with latte.
Anyway, I am very happy that I can now drink coffee made with Sightglass Coffee beans close to home. It's a small but big happiness for me. :)
I will visit again soon and try another coffee...
Read moreI liked this coffee shop until I received their customer service. There’s a decent amount of seating so it’s a decent spot to study at. They’re just a little expensive when it comes to adjustments for your coffee. The only con was the staff. Most of the staff seemed fine but the girl on Saturday morning (2/08/25) wearing a white headband that took my order acted like I did something wrong to her. Not sure what her issue was, but for some reason I really bothered the girl. I said all my please and thank yous, so I definitely wasn’t rude to her. She gave me a lot of attitude when I ordered. When I went to pick up my coffee from the counter, I said thank you and she gave me such an ugly look. I guess she was just in a bad mood that day or something. I understand having bad moods, I use to work in the food industry. But at 9 am when they just opened and the customer is being really kind to you is crazy. I felt like I provided better customer service to her and I’m the customer!! Wish I could recommend this spot but I don’t like mean energy when I’m trying to focus and study. Wouldn’t recommend. There’s plenty of other coffee shops in Irvine with staff that welcome you with positive energy instead of making you feel like a burden bc you asked for almond milk instead of...
Read moreNeat spot tucked away in a business area on Jeffrey. Ample seating though it seems pretty crowded at any time of day.
I’ve had their cold brew and blood orange espresso tonic so far and both were great! Sightglass beans are tasty and so are the drinks. Price wise I’d say they are on par with other cafes considering they all charge $5-7 these days. I’ve come to accept this is the new norm for coffee considering the inflation and coffee bean prices.
I will try the strawberry matcha soon as well and just wish oat milk wasn’t an extra $1 🥲
All in all definitely recommend this new coffee spot! 🫡
Update 8/23/23: tried strawberry oat matcha and it was decent, pretty standard. But it was also $8.35 which is higher than other shops by at least a full dollar or more. Maybe they’re using ceremonial grade matcha but honestly don’t think that’s necessary for flavored matcha drinks. A little overpriced if you ask me. And there wasn’t enough strawberry flavor…. For this price I could get strawberry matcha with a shot at another shop. I’ll stick to cold brew and blood orange...
