Went there for lunch with wife and ordered their chicken tikka masala with naan. The so called “naan” which they served was a reheated frozen naan that you find at Indian grocery stores!!! See the pic attached. They took 35 minutes to get the food out when it wasn’t crowded and on top of that, didn’t even make their own naan. People who came after us and placed orders after us, got their food and I had to go remind them 3 times to get the food out. This was not a special order, just simple chicken tikka and thaali. We ordered at 12:20, food came at exact 12:51. That is too long for pre-prepared food in lunch time.
The non-veg lunch thaali had the same chicken tikka, frozen reheated naan, Biryani which had hard rice from re-heating, and reheated ready-to-eat frozen Rajma beans. The naan in this thaali was also the same frozen one, but this one they forgot to heat all the way so you can feel the cold/mushy corner on one side. Totally ruined the mood of having fresh food. You might as well just pick up Chicken Tikka and Naan from the frozen section of Indian stores and will get the same taste/experience.
I have gone there for Dinner time and their Biryani’s and fried snack items in the evening are fresh and taste good, but definitely not worth in Lunch time. Never going in lunch again. Missed meeting...
Read moreExcellent flavor for your money! The food was cooked expertly, the spices were very pleasing, and of all things they even offer your own choice of meats to put in the curry sauces that you choose. It is an excellent model that allows you to come up with a large number of combinations according to how you feel that day. I had eaten the butter masala which I had never heard of before today. It was a smooth curry which was sweet but not sickeningly sweet. Much more like a very savory addition to the already well made curry. Then I even went as bold as to add lamb and had some rice and naan which were both prepared well and accepted the curry to create a very balanced meal that was very calming to my gut. Haha. The portion size is very generous to make sure you have your full and maybe a little more to take with you. As a heavy set man even I was able to take some leftover for the morning's breakfast over some rice. The price is also good for the area compared to most other restaurants close by. There is an Indian restaurant across 635 called India 101. Although they serve a lunch buffet, their sauces don't even hold a candle to these guys at Biryani's. There really is something to be said about quality over quantity. Definitely recommend these guys and will...
Read moreDisappointing Experience at Desi Flavors
I'm disappointed to report that my recent visit to Desi Flavors, formerly known as Biryanis and More, was a resounding letdown. This once-beloved Indian take-out kitchen has taken a significant downturn under its new management. Subpar Food The culinary experience was marred by underwhelming dishes. The naans, a staple in Indian cuisine, were undercooked and lacked the characteristic fluffiness. The paneer tikka, a dish I eagerly anticipated, was a major disappointment - the paneer was hard and flavorless. The biggest letdown, however, was the chicken curry, which was unpalatably bad. The flavors were off, and the texture was unappetizing. Overpriced and Underwhelming To add insult to injury, the dishes are priced at a premium, making the subpar quality even more egregious. It's clear that the new management has not maintained the high standards that Desi Flavors once had. Verdict Unfortunately, I would not recommend Desi Flavors to anyone until they revamp their menu and cooking techniques. The current state of the restaurant is a disservice to its former reputation. I hope the management takes customer feedback seriously and makes necessary changes to restore the restaurant to its...
