McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Irving

Very disappointed in this location and will not be back. A couple months ago I placed an online order so I could run in and grab it and get back to work quickly. I showed up after the time my order was supposed to be ready and it was not on the shelf. After waiting 10 min and being very frustrated I went up to the counter and asked about my order. The girl said "Oh sorry we are out of mashed potatoes and gravy so that's why we didn't put your order out."

Seriously? She just let me stand there while my sandwich that was supposed to be hot got nice and cool. And then couldn't even complete my order. It made me mad because it was a very busy day a work and the whole reason why I ordered McAllister's was to only be gone a couple min from work.

Fast forward to last night when I decided to give this location a second shot and the same thing happened again. I ordered online and got to the store to find my food not on the shelf, which was fine since I was a couple min early. I stood there and stood there with no acknowledgement as my order ready time passed. One guy was working cleaning stuff, I could tell the cook in the back was not working on any orders, and the girl that was working the front was just standing playing on her cell phone.

I was getting very aggravated again and was about to go ask them about my order when the one person in the whole building that was actually working asked me if I was waiting on something and asked my name. Then he told the girl playing on her cell phone about my order. She came out and the order had been sitting behind the counter and when she handed it to me she said "Oh. I'm sorry! I had no idea this was yours." To which I replied "Maybe next time you should ask and you would know."

The sandwich was good, the Mac and cheese was awful. Walmart deli has better Mac and cheese. Will not return or recommend anyone...

Last night I decided to order out after receiving a promo code for DoorDash (definitely don't recommend) from a company I barely use anymore named DOSH (definitely don't recommend). It was for $10 off of a $15+ purchase - plus *free delivery. HUGE MISTAKE!

I decided to order from McAlister's because I hadn't had them in probably over a year but I knew their food was definitely going to be just as I remembered. Perfect! Definitely not my finest moment in decision making.

I ordered a half of a turkey sandwich & half order of ultimate nachos as a combo meal - with a bowl of broccoli cheddar - and a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. I promise y'all their broccoli cheddar soup is out of this world! I couldn't wait for this soup. Yes! It's that good.

So I'm sure you can imagine my disappointment when my order arrives, my boyfriend takes it (as I was getting dressed), the driver leaves and once I make it to the kitchen to set our plates and remove our dinner from the bag I try to figure out what's wrong with my soup & mashed potatoes because they just do not look the way I remembered. Strange!

Well, my dinner looked different because it wasn't broccoli cheddar soup or mashed potatoes and gravy. Yup! Just perfect! These people had one job. One job. Their job was to prepare and deliver broccoli cheddar soup and mashed potatoes and gravy BUT instead I got 2 huge containers of what looked like a meat chilli after being blended in a blender. Disgusting! Especially since I don't eat meat. Super fun!

But not as much super fun as I had trying to contact DoorDash or the fun my boyfriend had when he had to contact McAlister's and then drive all the way out to the other side of town to pick up our corrected order &...

I really like going to McAlister the salads and baked potatoes are awesome. I really like going to the location in Addison Texas but I was on my way to work so I decided to stop at McAlisters in Irving on Regent Blvd such a bad idea. I previously stopped there a week ago and purchased a salad and it was not that great and those hideous beige Styrofoam containers just makes it even worse. So today I decided to stop by McAlisters again just to give them another chance but I should have just kept on driving or went to McDonalds. The salad appeared to old/not fresh at all, there wasn't much chicken in the salad (guess you have to cut the cost somewhere). I paid for Xtra cheese which I did not get and last but not least they are still using those hideous beige containers. Presentation is key and my salad lacked luster. The counter was crowded with about 5 people and it seemed as if the blind was leading the blind. Management please for heaven's sake do better. I'm so disappointed with this McAlisters location. Last but not least it is dimly lit, it has zero life to it. At this point just throw the entire deli in the trash can because that is exactly what is being served. Back to the Addison location I go. Last but definitely not least train your team on how to deliver great customer service because you are failing them. One more thing ask your employee to cut off or take off those extra long nails because that is a sanitary issue, so much bacteria underneath those long nails....
