Rocking Crab II — Restaurant in Irving

The food was good. But, they didn't have a decent selection of hot sauce for the fish. I know people have been asking for sauce. However, the service staff was too thin, so the service was lacking. I can't blame the waitress for that, I can blame the manager at the front that held the podium up while he watched the 2 waitresses on duty get swamped. He literally watched em while he did nothing, shameful. The atmosphere was the worst part of our experience. It was a little warm in the building so they had a cheap little fan going and it wasn't helping. The walls are bare, with the exception of the TVs, but the walls look as if they weren't painted from the last tenants. They had reggaeton playing for the customers, but I promise you they were not the reggaeton kind of people. I MIGHT go back. But I would recommend other seafood spots first to be honest. I ordered the fried shrimp basket and the wife had the fried catfish. I was very disappointed. The 6 shrimp came right out of a box of frozen breaded shrimp that you can buy at Sam's or what you would find at a cheap buffet. The catfish wasn't any better and I am pretty sure it was also frozen and prebreaded and from Sam's as well. It was not what we were expecting.

Since the restaurant is fairly new to Irving, we thought we would try it out. For the price they charged, you can get much better, fresh seafood in Irving. We won't be back and I cannot recommend...

We visited their Dallas location, and had caught wind that this location had opened the previous week. The service was super friendly ordering, and the waitress did pretty well when asked questions about the menu for the new store! The seasoning on their crab legs was PHENOMENAL. The service was OUTSTANDING. We had a couple weird happenings (likely a fluke from their seafood supplier), and they handled it without even skipping a beat. If they can get their supplier mishap figured out, then this will be a five star...
