La Central — Restaurant in Isabela

This place has been one of our absolute favorites. My boyfriend and I moved to Isabella a month ago and the staff has been so friendly and welcoming from the beginning. Folks speak English if you need them to, but they are also patient with you if you are trying to develop your Spanish. Sarah is an amazing cocktail bartender with recipes and delivery comparable to New York and Miami cocktail bar standards. Fresh juices, solid set of Classics and fun new creations (I myself worked at some of the top cocktail bars in NYC-La Central has it together). It's amazing to see young people doing their thing on the island. Very much Puerto Rican, but with a new-wave/indie flavor to it. Can't wait to get to some of their upcoming music/comedy shows. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area. I love the place. I’d go every week if I could…and sometimes I do. The food and the drinks are always good, and so is the ambiance. The owners are great people as well. Came here two hours before they closed, but had to wait an hour for our food. There was only one other table with guests in the restaurant. My food came out dry, bland, and my sweet mash potatoes came out cold, but I was so hungry that I ate it, but left half of my plate unfinished. I would find another place to try before...
