Terrible app that ruined the in person experience. UPDATE: when I went earlier in May, I had downloaded the app since it presented good deals such as a 1000 points on signup offer. when I signed up, I waited about a day or two before actually going, and when I went in person I ordered a acai and then wanted to use the points on a free drink. instead, I ended up having to pay for the drink which made me feel like I wasted my money and time, because the time I spent trying to figure out the glitch in the app, was time where my acai bowl was getting worse in its cup. the app kept telling me I couldn't use the reward for some dumb reason, and then I had to do a lot of steps to end up one step closer to using it before it would end up in the same message as before. this happened again later, as I found out about a 2$ off deal that was being promoted on Instagram. this sounded interesting and I thought it could make up for the blunder from before, BUT NO! I tried it and it said the coupon was not able to be used despite it being newly promoted online. I went down $5 for a drink that should've been free, my acai ended up in worse quality because of wasted time, and annoyingly glitchy app that wont let you use any rewards but loves to get your money. I was over the moon this morning when I was trying to decide where to go for a morning açai bowl. OakBerry‘s newly opened location in Isla Vista popped up in my search results. Apparently they opened this past weekend on Saturday. I wouldn’t have known based on how nicely set up the store was.

The employee and daughter Ana greeted me. She helped me decide what toppings I wanted on my Classic bowl; even though toppings are unlimited. I almost always get the same items because I know what I’ve enjoyed (nido, cashews, peanut butter, blueberries, bananas, and honey). The space is decorated all cute with swinging chairs that make a perfect Instagram photo. Although there are many açai places in town, (Backyard Bowls, Blenders, CAJÉ, etc.), OakBerry is always on the top of my list. Coffee beverages are soon to come once they’ve perfected...

Hmmm wanted to love this place as I love non-blended Açaí. The problem? My bowl was basically a slurpee! I see one other review had this problem, I wonder if their freezer isn’t...
