This is an all time family fave. My family vacations to IOP regularly and we always come here for the pizza and cookie skillets! This past visit was a girls trip with some of my friends from college. We did it a little differently than when I come with my family. We called ahead, ordered 3 pizzas and a side of Brussel sprouts (for 4 women). We picked it up, grabbed some drinks and sat by the fire pit that is right outside of the front doors. So relaxing. So lovely. We did have a whole pizza left over, but it reheated nicely. It is not a pillowy crust (ie papa johns or dominos). Also wouldn't call it a thin crust either. It's not crispy. It's definitely got a more authentic feel but Americanized...if that makes any sense. I should also clarify in the picture of the pizza attached, I have ripped off the crust. The pizza featured is the meatball pizza. We typically walk to Coastal Crust along the beach when with my family and that really helps us feel like we "earned" the pizza.

The sign on the door says that the restaurant is open from 4pm - 10pm. We are a party of three staying at Wild Dunes as a part of a conference. We walked in at 8:54pm. The bartender would not serve us. When we referenced the sign on the door, the server/bartender said that they get to choose and they were closing. There were 12 patrons drinking at the bar. They said we could potentially order food to go. This is not only false advertising but also rude to turn paying customers away when there are clearly still patrons at the bar.

The kitchen was the winner in this experience. The host and hostess were horrible… they did not greet us or welcome us in. They seemed bothered we were there, when asked questions about menu. (Knocked off a star for each of them… they were that bad) 😏 It was pretty much empty as they just opened. The appetizer and pizza were spot on. We were sat in front of kitchen/prep area.. kids loved watching everyone working hard. ( 14+ staff working cohesively together) The pricing was typical for resort setting.

Food was decent- liked the burger and salads a lot. Took off 2 stars for the worst waitress ever. She was sweet but not good at her job. She kept disappearing to talk to the cooks (found her there several times even we needed utensils, napkins and drinks). She forgot to order one of our meals in our party of 9. Be warned that the food comes out as soon as it's cooked which was ok with us since it was hot and good. It's better than letting it sit under a warmer waiting for the other dishes. But since they bring the dishes out one at a time it took forever for us to realize that one of our party had been totally overlooked by our waitress. We are pretty certain she went back to turn in the order and again got distracted because after about 20 minutes we asked about it again and she made up a story about "they were out of french fries but now they're not and it'll be right out." So after that fiasco and waiting for a very long time for our party to be served she refused to separate our checks even though she asked, "how would you like the check?". Making up some kind of excuse about their system being outdated and that she couldn't separate us into groups within a party. Isn't that something you should start with? Dining in may take you forever - don't expect great service this place is run by children. We saw one unenthusiastic adult (presumably the manager) who never bothered to stop by and check on us but kept doing walks around the dining room. Like I said previously though the food was good. Prob order take out if...

A Disappointing Experience Due to Poor Management! Our recent visit to Coastal Crust Wild Dunes was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. It's a shame, because you could clearly see the staff was trying their absolute best, but they were completely let down by what appears to be a serious management problem. The restaurant was woefully understaffed, and the team on the floor was visibly overwhelmed. The server, who was running ragged, apologized multiple times for the long wait for our drinks and food. It was obvious they were in the weeds and doing everything they could to keep up, but it was an impossible task. The blame here isn't on the employees—it's on the management that put them in this impossible situation. They need more support, more training, and frankly, more people on the schedule. Until Coastal Crust Wild Dunes gets its management act together and provides its hard-working team with the resources they need, I can't recommend it. It's a disservice to both the customers and the dedicated staff who are doing the best they can under terrible...

Apparently, they can't afford a sign that says "Takeout Only Window". My wife and I were looking to sit down to eat. There was a long line outside when we arrived so naturally we stood there. The girl at the window told us to come back in 50 minutes for our order. Ok...that's a long wait for dine-in at a pizza place considering the empty tables but ok, we're not in a rush. 50 minutes goes by and there's a huge line now. An employee tells us we need to stand in line again. Ridiculous. After another 10 minutes, the girl at the window hands us our pizza in a box. No sit down. No utensils. No water. Nothing. I explain we were looking to dine in but the girl told us we're not allowed to sit at any of their tables. We need to leave the premises to eat our pizza. This is ridiculous. Instead of correcting the issue, we are told to leave. I can write "take out only" on a piece of paper if they can't afford it. So we found a place to eat and we're presented with an undercooked,...
