So I have loved Swenson's since I was a child playing in the Northwest Jackson Soccer League (NJSL) over in the park there. I then moved away and didnt have it for almost two decades but since moving back this past year and discovering how late they stay open I am now hooked on this place it's open so late which for a bartender like myself is super crucial. Love the milkshakes. Tons of flavors. Love the fried zucchini and man n cheese jalapeno bites and of course the galley boy is a must have on each visit. Just tonight I stopped by around 1230 and thankfully the weekend teenager crowd has just cleared out because I didn't have to wait long at all. I also had the pleasure of being helped by a young man named Josh whos great attitude, knowledge of the business and professionalism was very impressive. Workers like Josh are the icing on the already delicious "cake" that is Swenson's. He mentioned having worked there 4 years and to that I say. Give that man a raise!! It's hard to find good help these days and even harder to keep them. If I were Swenson's I'd be grooming Josh for a managerial work but that's me. Moral of the story is eat at Swenson's and show appreciation for staff members at all businesses! Tip well and write reviews so their bosses know they are doing a good job. I love it when I hear that I got a good review. So hopefully this gets back to my new go to Swenson's guy Josh...
Read moreThis is by far one of the most unprofessional restaurants that I have had the “pleasure” of visiting if you call it that. My sandwich was messy and seemed to mimic McDonald’s $1. Weird because I paid so much more than $1 for it even though that’s what it’s worth. I got the wrong flavor milkshake and I refused to talk to the servers running around so finally the general manager came out to our car— Nancy I think her name is— well she’s flat our rude and shouldn’t be in her position. When I said I’d like it all remade she told em she would but it’s taste the same. ARE YOU SERIOUS? I got angry and shooed her from my car and then she went inside and proceeded to scream at her employees for making my food wrong. She was so loud I heard her along with the rest of the customers outside with open doors and windows. Not to mention all the metal in her face, and wearing skull leggings????? Not professional at all. That’s whose in charge of the safety and accuracy of my food? If I saw how uncaring of her own appearance the general manager I wouldn’t wonder why my food was messy. You need to get a leader in there who actually cares. She’s a great disappointment and I will most definitely not be returning. Rather go to McDonald’s or Wendy’s for all that matters. At least their leaders care more and are more serious about...
Read moreAlways a solid consistent choice with great service! My personal favorite is the hamburger and adding cajun seasoning and bacon and pickles. However, you also can never go wrong with the galley boy either! The sauce is great on it! You can also add the cajun seasoning to the burger on that, to give it a little edge if you like. For sides we recommend the potato teezers and fried mushrooms, which are always a great choice! Service is always top notch here. You barely pull into your parking spot and they are greeting you at your window to see if you need a menu or are ready to place your order. Their personalities are always so outgoing and accommodating as well. We've never had a bad experience here and we appreciate the extra steps all the staff take during ANY weather! Food rarely takes long, and more recently, when they "car hop" and they bring your food, you get to use the tray inside your vehicle, instead of attaching it to your window. Not sure if that is a winter thing, but it seems more practical as we're dining in our cars, so thank you for that. And finally, they will bring your dog a...
