My wife and I visited this restaurant on 2/14/19. We had to wait a bit longer than one would normally expect to place our drink order, but they were slammed — no worries. We ordered. Our appetizers came out promptly and were tasty. We ordered fried rice as a side to our sushi and decided to take it early because the sushi counter was running behind — again, no worries, slower service is to be expected on the night of Valentines Day. We did indeed receive our sushi order, and all of the ingredients were good excluding the nori. The rolls that contained nori all varied between very difficult and impossible to chew. On some pieces, we resorted to deconstructing them eating everything but the nori. One of the staff that was not our waitress checked-in to make sure we didn’t need anything, and I politely mentioned that we were enjoying our food, but that the nori was very difficult to chew. He said that he would pass the info along. HERE is where it gets GOOD! Shortly after, our waitress approached the table, seemingly angry, and proceeded to loudly question whether or not we had ever eaten sushi. The restaurant was relatively quiet, so all of the other guests could easily hear her side of the conversation. She continued to explain that nori is always tough and that no other guest had complained regarding the issue (I have eaten a lot of sushi. I have never had a similar experience). I attempted to clarify that we were not necessarily complaining, and that we were reasonably happy with our food, but that we just wanted to share our experience with the nori in case it was an issue that could be corrected. She just continued to loudly ramble on about the same subject matter. Since we were under the impression that she was the manager and/or owner, and were certainly not going to attempt to discuss it further with her, we chose to just pay our bill and depart.
Food: Decent / OK
(Customer) Service: Absolutely Awful!!!
I will not be returning. If you prefer to not be essentially yelled at by wait staff, I’d recommend...

Read moreWow just wow! I never thought I would leave a restaurant in tears. I have never eaten here but my sister raves about it. My sister just had her first chemo treatment and only wanted misso soup from Edo. The order was $5.45. I pulled out my debit card and the owner says, “No you pay with cash.” I told her I did not have any cash. She went on to say you have to make a $10 purchase to pay with card. I said, “ Wow that’s crazy.” She began to scold me about not knowing how to run a business. I told her she should never speak to a paying customer that way and I would get cash out of my car. ( Normally I would have left but I really wanted to get the soup for my sister.) When I came back in she refused to sell me the soup. With tears streaming, I begged her for it and explained my sister just had chemo therapy and she really wanted their soup. As she is yelling her husband came out to give me the soup. She literally began to physically fight him because he gave me the soup. I put the cash on the counter and began to walk away. He came behind me and stuck the money in my back pocket. She was so angry that she attacked him again as I was walking out the door. Needless to say my first and last experience at Edo’s was quite traumatic. But hey at least my sister got some food she could keep...
