IHOP was one of my first jobs as a high school student. Before the military and DHS, I was in retail management for 7 years. I understand the importance of customer service, how hard management can be and waitress life. From 2017 to now, I have gone to the IHOP in North Jackson on Briarwood Dr five times; out of those five times, four were HORRIBLE!!!!!
The first time it was with my children. We waited forever to sit, be waited on and our food was not prepared correctly. Took me awhile but rode with some co workers and they wanted to come to this IHOP. Ok. Its close to the job and I'm not driving. SMH. One of my co workers called corporate from the experience. (Big Steak, sub chicken. I'm sure corporate remembers.) Third time, (free food from corporate call) no complaints. Had a great waiter. Prompt service, hot correct food. Smh. Fourth time brings me to 2019. My boyfriend and I had been out for music and fun near North Jackson. 1 am... Waffle House or IHOP. IHOP on Briarwood it is. Order takeout. Being that I just knew it was right (always giving ppl with benefit of the doubt), I did not check our order. Both had Big Steaks sub chicken, no hash. (Why have a Big Steak when they have the Chicken Fajita omelette. Well, I don't like those ingredients. Yes, I tried it. The Big Steak has what I like. I want to sub chicken for steak.) Got all the way to Madison and we have two regular Big Steaks. Smh. Call back up there and the manager on duty explains that we were given the wrong order that pur order was still there and to come back whenever and get a remake. Well, now they have a sign about needing a receipt for any remakes. I was not told that. Called like that following Monday and Alex, the manager, acted as if he didnt know anything and asks me for a receipt. I found it and then he says my name is on the wall... He said they still needed a receipt and couldn't fix their mess up without it. Smh. Got there and he seemed so frustrated. They were busy and he was all over the place, as in frantic. It was frustrating to watch. I finally get my order after about 5 mins of him bringing it to the front because he had forgotten who's order it was out of the 6 ppl standing in front of the front desk. How do you forget the lady with the problem?
Today, like a month or so after the fourth incident, my coworker and I try them again. Needless to say, neither one of us will EVER come back! I order the usual with no hash. She orders a ham and cheese omelette. We are both in full military OCP uniform. They took about 10 mins to sit us but that was cool because they were busy. The omelettes had sliced cheese on them, my pancakes were more like heavy and crispy instead of light and fluffy and I had hash browns inside my omelette. We get our tickets and no military discount applied. Cool.We gave him our cards. Listen, all I asked the waiter to do was warm my pancakes because the hot maple I asked for wasnt hot. At this point, I am just ready TO GO!!!!!!! My friend/ co worker asks about the discount. The waiter said they can not just apply it. Called the name of the regulation and said that if we are willing to pay the dollar then they will bill us without question. If we ask for the discount then they will apply it... BLEW ME! I expect that from car salesmen but not family friendly businesses. We paid and left a monetary tip and left. I will NOT be back. I go to the one on Greenway near Hwy 18 all the time and I dont believe I have ever had a problem with anything there! Even walked there from Walmart while my car was being serviced with my children and they were awesome. But Brairwood Drive IHOP in Jackson is horrible! NOT AGAIN!!!!! (Please excuse all errors and length. I am still very disappointed and frustrated. And I couldn't post this without given it at least one star but I did not want to give them that. This is too much! An issue...
Read moreThe only reason why this so called restaurant is getting a star is so I can post this review so tonight I go to pick up an order that was placed online it was a pancake combo with a side of bacon and hashbrowns, a waffle combo with bacon and hashbrowns when I arrived at the store there were 3 customers at a booth eating after about 3 minutes some guy came out and asked could he help me I told him what I was there for he said we out of sirloin steak I said umm there was no sirloin steak on the order so I showed him on my phone the exact order to which he replied o our waffle machine don't work so he was gonna need to cancel the order umm excuse me cancel the order what about the pancakes bacon and hashbrowns to to which he replied well we don't have a cook tonight I said what he said my manager is back there but she don't wanna cook bc she don't get paid to cook I was like are u kidding me she is the manager what do you think her job is he said it's to manage the store and i was yeah and that means if there is no cook guess what that means that's her job for the shift the manager is suppose to do whatever job that she needs to do if someone isn't there to do it he kept rolling his eyes saying yes but she don't want to bc she don't get paid to do that job by this point I'm just like this is ridiculous so he tells the so called "manager"that I'm insisting on the food being cooked and she yells out ill cook the pancake but that's it then another customer comes in and says they had an online order and he tells that person they canceled their order bc they got no sirloin so that person just leaves then the phone rings the guy tells the people on the phone they can only cook call in orders they not taking online orders but they got to make their order online hahaha hahaha I could not heat the people on the other end but I assure you they were just as confused as I was at this point I told them to just cancel the order this "manager " and her peon need to be fired immediately and someone needs to explain to her what a manager job consist of bc obviously she is clueless and they needed help so bad that they pulled her off the street and gave her a title she clearly...
Read moreI am writing this post in hopes someone in a corporate office will read it. My husband and I visited this Ihop after traveling all day and since it was within walking distance of our hotel, we thought we would give it a try. It was 5:45 when we approached the front entrance and could not tell if it was open or not as it was so dark. No front lights were on and upon entering the building we noticed it was 100% empty. At dinner time, the entire restaurant was empty EXCEPT for one man standing by the front door. We were about to walk out when he said they were open BUT the workers liked it dark up front.....he continued to stand right by the door. Very suspect. So after 3 minutes of NO ONE, not ONE employee in sight, we turned around to leave when the man standing by the door hollered at us that an employee has walked up front to assist us. Against our better judgment, we turned around and came back in to the building for dinner. The young server (who was wearing a pink, clown looking wig) did not speak to to us at all but motioned for us to follow him. He proceeded to lead us to a dirty table, in a corner of this EMPTY restaurant. Yes, a completely empty restaurant with several clean tables and he sat us at a dirty table with salt all over it and a coffee pot half full. Then he walked off. He walked away without saying a word to us. He walked away, back into the kitchen where he and the other employees were cutting up, laughing, goofing off....or who knows what they were doing but between the front lights off, the dirty table and the strange guy standing at the front door we got up and walked out and ate at the place across the street. I cannot imagine ANYONE wanting to eat or spend their hard earned money in this establishment. If you are wondering why your sales are down and why your place is empty at dinner time look at your CUSTOMER SERVICE - there is NONE. Your employees are playing and NOT working on company dollar.....you have to make changes,...
