Flavorz — Restaurant in Jackson

My coworkers have gone here a few times prior and I regret to say that I declined their invite until today.

My first mistake: walking into this establishment 8 1/2 months pregnant. My second mistake: having no self control.

First off. The smell... Immediately had my mouth watering. That good, home cooked soul food smell. Yum! Building seemed clean and well ventilated. Menu was a little hard to read in the dim light but I managed. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Hoagie with fries per my coworkers recommendation. After ordering and paying I looked around to realize they have so much more. Walked out with 4 jars of whacky flavored cotton candy(rootbeer, orange, pina colada and chocolate banana were some options in addition to the traditional flavors), an enormous piece of 5 layer chocolate cake, peanut butter caramel pie and my afformentioned lunch. I'd would have loved to share a picture of my hoagie, but it was so good that I smashed it down, not even sure I took a breath. Cheesy, butter grilled bun, fresh tasting ingredients. Fries seasoning really hits the spot too. All around a delicious lunch. Cake is soft and creamy, not to dry - not too moist. Would be delicious with hot fudge on top but that could be the pregnancy talking. The pie is for my husband, and the cotton candy is for my daughter (couldnt spoil myself and brag without including them) so I'll have to come back on those reviews.

They also had a candy counter that I had to practice SOME self control to not approach and many coolers with other salads and goodies. I'll save those surprises for a later date...

This is a convenience store with crazy good smells emanating from the interior. It seems strange they would have amazing food, but hey.. somehow they do.

The devilled eggs are incredibly fresh, tangy and creamy. The steak hoagie had melted cheese, peppers and incredible flavor on a toasted bun. The fries were mostly crispy with a light seasoning. The chili cheese sauce so good.. I would eat here a lot if I lived in the area.

I stood and waited for the meal.. they had 4 items ready in under 15 minutes while 2 big orders came at the same time on the phone. Seemed like it was easy for them to deliver great food. The chefs cook so well! Really great overall.. like if you want some tasty American food then go here. If your girlfriend just made you watch a horror film on a Tuesday when you weren't even ready and you need some comfort food.. my friend.. just call up...

Bought some ranch dressing and some cheesecakes. So delicious!

Now let me tell you something. I do not like ranch and never has. I'm more of a barbecue gal. One day I bought some chicken tenders and fries with some ranch. The plan was to take the left over chicken tenders and ranch home to my kid. Everybody is always ranting and raving about the ranch here so I decided to try a sample. Tried it with a fry and wasn't grossed out at all. So of course I had to try it with the chicken tender and long story short I went home without any ranch for my kid. So if the story tells you anything, it's just that this anti-ranch liking gal changed her mind only for this ranch. That's how good it is. I even bought a whole bottle to take...
