Oak Tree Lounge — Restaurant in Jackson

Well we came in a little late and there wasn't much time until they closed up so honestly we didn't expect much... other than a little bite to eat and a nightcap before going home😉 Usually by then most places shrug you off because they are more than ready to go home! Well not Oaktree ☺️ Our server (Melissa) was upbeat, friendly and helpful the entire time, and the cook (Zack?) was also in great spirits and did an amazing job on our food! I felt very comfortable and not rushed at all! While chatting with the 2 employees I had learned that our server had actually picked up the closing shift, after working all day already, and she also has a little baby at home looking forward to seeing her mommy! Geesh... they say good help is hard to find, guess they all work at this little place 🤷‍♀️ Thank you Melissa and thank you Oaktree for making the end of our night much better than we could have ever expected! Next time we will come earlier to enjoy more time...

Oak Tree has -the- best veggie burger in town. Possibly in the state. "The Mighty Vegetarian" is a black bean burger and it has the perfect amount of spice and an excellent mix of toppings, served on a savory onion bun. If my husband asks what I want for dinner and I tell him a veggie burger, he knows that means Oak Tree.

Other than that, the staff at Oak Tree are all top notch. Though I spoke mostly of the mighty vegetarian, all of the food is truly excellent. You won't be disappointed no matter what you order. The atmosphere is warm with a bit of "everybody knows your name" vibe when the waitresses recognize a regular. It's a small place so it can be hard to find seating during peak times but they do have a large patio available.

Lousy service!!!!! Waitress has a terrible attitude!! Went in with a friend and sat down., waited 10 minutes before we were given menus, she said "I'll be back to get your drink orders" and breezed away before we could respond. About 15 minutes later she came back (after waiting on several new arrivals). The waitress said "What would you like to drink, we told her, she said "I'll be back to get your food orders". We told her we knew what we wanted and would like to order now, the waitress got mad and argued with us stating she "didn't have time for us". My friend told her she could either take our orders then or we would pay for our finished drinks and leave and go somewhere else. The waitress reluctantly took our order, but was very rude to us.
