Andy's Sandwich Shoppe — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I've been coming here for over 17 years and have only had 2 issues ever. Today was the second issue. I called my order in like I normally do while I'm next door at the gas station so I can take out cash. I'm when calling I was placed on hold immediately, I could see there was about 2 ppl in line. I waited about 4 to 5 mins no issue. However, after placing my order I asked for the total like normal. A different young lady answered the phone from who typically does so when I asked her she told me no I couldn't she would give it to me when I came in. While I'm telling her I need to know my total so I can make sure I have enough. At that time I saw a young lady walk in. She was the only one in line then I was told that she could not give me a total because she had a line of people waiting as I'm looking at the one person in line after I waited about 5 minutes for her to come back to the phone. I then told her well I waited 5 minutes for you to come back to the phone I can wait for the total I need to know how much it is to make sure I have enough money when I get there she then got a little snappy and told me that she was not going to give me my total because she had a line of people and in the midst of me saying well if I don't have enough money when I come are you going to help pay it she hung up in my face. I called back she lets it ring for about a minute before she answers the phone then she answers it with attitude I immediately asked to speak with the manager. Miss Tony comes to the phone and states that no she couldn't give me a total when there is a line of people then tells me to calm down when all I asked was I need my total so I know how much to bring with me. I told her I was calm and there was no need to tell me to calm down then she again said well she couldn't give me a total so I hung up the phone. They called back 2 minutes later I did not answer the phone the food was for my children before they went to school after hearing how rude the lady was and hanging up in my face my son no longer wanted his food my daughter said she would walk in herself and order her food because she didn't feel comfortable eating that food I had ordered because of how rude the young lady was. I agreed so I allowed her to go in. Of course I've been coming there for over 17 years so they know my face and they know my name they seen me in the car they pointed and they spoke amongst themselves but no one approached me and no one apologized for hanging up in my face however I did not expect an apology because I returned the favor and hung up in there. After this experience it's probably going to be a while before I ever go back I don't like to be lied to when I'm looking in the window and I see that there was not a line so there should have been no issue in giving me my total like there hasn't been the last 17 years. He should really keep the original people answering the phones who knows how to utilize their customer service skills. First timer here. The stop here was unexpected but boy am I so glad I did!! Little cute joint right off the highway. A mix of a city grill & country barn. I was immediately greeted with high pitched chipper voices. (in which lifted my spirit) Very extensive menu, with lots of options! I was in the mood for a burger & some chili cheese fries, so I order an apparently mumbled “I wish they had some coleslaw” the cashier heard me an said “we do!” I said “shoooot! Heck yeah! Throw some on my burger pls” order was in, I picked a sit next to this lady who I ended up learning soooooo much about 🐝 as she was a bee keeper! How cool? Before I realized my food came. Wow! 😯 the portion was large, & the presentation of the plate was good. The chili cheese fries had big chili beans 🫘, the cheese was well melted, the fries were crisp on the ends. This was my and my wife’s first time eating here. We had heard good things about the food here, but we weren’t impressed at all. As soon as we walked in, we noticed the staff behind the counter gossiping about someone outside instead of helping customers. Five minutes later, we were finally helped and directed towards a menu so we sat down to look them over. We immediately saw that the prices were pretty high, especially for the area, and decided that we’d order some waffles to go. The “Waffles and Pancakes” section caught our eye, but how many will we get for $6.99? The lady behind the counter who took our order shocked us when she said, “You get one waffle, but it’s a Belgian waffle”. My question is Why does it say “Waffles” (plural) on the menu when you only get a waffle for $6.99. Plus, for being the most expensive waffle I’ve ever eaten, I expected it to taste good. But it didn’t. It was hard/crunchy and burnt on one side and soggy on the other. (My guess is too much butter).
