Don't be fooled by their so called return or exchange at Home Depot is just easy as buying the item because I assure you it is not. My husband purchased french doors for our home. He bought the set that the door opens on the Right hand side when we needed a Left hand side swing door. The price is the same for either direction. He noticed right after our sliding glass doors were removed. He was not to worried. He had the ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPT -- He was within the 90 DAY RETURN timeframe, so should have been easy right ? Not even close, the girls at the return counter were rude from the start, he did not have his debit card it was purchased with - I had it and I was at the Dr. but he just wanted an even straight across trade so he didn't think he needed anything but the receipt as he was not trying to get any money. A receipt should lock in the purchase price for the 90 day period they offer on making adjustments or returns on the purchases. NOPE, in the period of time that we bought the door and came back to exchange it, within out 90 days with our receipt the price went from $ 667 to $ 709 so Home Depot charged my husband the $45 difference in price. Would they have given him $709 on a return ?? No that only works in their favor - WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING A RECEIPT ?? Nobody there could understand that the items we were dealing with did not change, only the price . This makes no sense I have never heard of anything like this and I really doubt that they charge each exchanged item as if It were purchased that day and charge or refund any change in price. It has been like beating my head against wall trying to get anybody at this place to understand that it was still an even straight across exchange for the exact same item --- so the only thing that changed was they increased the price but that I bought it in January when the price was lower so having my receipt that proved when it was purchased and how much I paid should have been all they needed to adjust the exchange to the old price. Why was the door I bought from them only worth $667 when it was in my possession at the store but the identical door in their store isles is marked $709 & they will sell the door I exchanged for $709 so Home Depot really made out on that deal considering by the end of the exchange when when my husband paid another $45 I also paid $709 for the door and they will sell it for $709 + 45 additional we paid so they will be getting $754 for a $667 dollar door. I emailed Customer Service and they were clueless as well so they have lost a customer who will never again shop with them and I will write reviews about this awful trip...
